UPDATE BELOW: Kinda urgent: these pumps?

I didn't realize you could do a store availability search on Nordstrom, but that narrowed me down from 5 pages of shoes to 9 actual pairs of shoes. Is patent appropriate, if I can stand this heel? I'm thinking I'll have my DH drive me to and from the interview to avoid the perils of walking there in heels through snow and ice.

Patent is very appropriate. i think of it as a summer shoe. Also, to me, seems dressier than matte leather.

Oh...they are a lovely coral color. So appropriate for an interview; classic but in a memorable color and texture. Great pick!

ETA: are we talking black? I thought you said you were look for black pumps earlier so I just honed in on that color when looking at the link.

I love that DHs reason for accompanying you is to preserve your footwear, lol. Although maybe tell him it's for moral support to go easy on his ego.

Black was what showed up when I followed the link, and you'd mentioned black previously, so that was what I assumed you were talking about. I vote yes to black!

The black option shows for me when I click the link. I think they are dressy but professional and (sorry!) classic. I actually think they're a great shoe for you as they can be a counterpoint to some of your edgier pieces. (Or can do "interview/office" polish.)

Looks like a good basic pump, though I think you'd probably be happier with a 3" heel for the long term. Not sure if you can do pointy, but I also like these as options for you (perhaps they're not nearby though):

They look great, although a little high. I love my corso comos, and find that they feel more comfortable on than they should given their heel height (I think mine are 3 3/4" wedges).

However, I'd look for a lower heel too. I wear a lot of heels. When you walk in heels for an interview, you want a comfortable STRONG gait. You don't want any hesitation in your stride (caused by your shoes) to be misread as lack of confidence. You've gotta be able to walk like you could stomp someone. At least that's my theory for legal field interviews.

ETA: Stompability concerns aside, they are totally legal field appropriate.

I'm with K can shop here on the stompability. Watch out for carpeted shoe departments where everything's jake and then on your own on smooth surfaces you're unsteady.

Patent used to be only a summer shoe and sporty - more in the spectator sense. Now year round. Me, when I think of corporate culture, I would ask myself if any of the male partners would wear patent to the office.

Una, sorry if I'm asking what's already been covered but are pumps your only option? I can see you better in Mary Janes and you'd get more wear out of them.

p.s.
As for DH driving you there, if he can't for whatever reason, you can of course always walk there in more snow friendly footwear, then change. This just poped to my head.

BTW, am a sometime avid reader of menswear blogs and trad men tend to judge each other by the quality of leather in their shoes. Women's shoes are rarely of such fine leathers. But it got me thinking, what about the best quality heeled lace up oxford you could afford. Not so girly as to require personality transplant.

Okay--deleting previous thoughts. Just did a *duh* where I remembered that you are wearing trousers. In that case, I could see mary janes reading as feminine versions of oxfords, which would be great. Slinking away in shame now.

Ha! Several of you were right - I took one look at a 3.5 heel on a pump and walked away. I could NEVER wear them, not to mention that my toes will not fit in the toe box. I couldn't even deal with looking for this kind of shoe. I'm thinking the suggestion of a nice heeled oxford is much better!

Same patent finish, lower heel, and since it is a wedge much more comfy too. Plus the pointy toes are very much on trend and would look great with your BF jeans after the interview.

Tanya, thanks! I think I saw those at Nordstrom. My issue is that I have really wide duck feet, so my toes are never going to fit a pointy shoe, even though I know there's empty room in the "point". Is there a body type equivalent for feet, because my feet are obviously IT too!
