Ok! Here’s a quick try on of the Sorel Kinetic Aura Slingback and the Fly London Taj sandals. I like them both. The Sorels are light and comfortable, and the Flys are ridiculously comfortable. I could envision keeping them both because they are so different in color and style.
I just popped them on with a pair of shorts and the first shirt I had on hand, so please pay no attention to styling or the sock lines on my legs (it’s chilly today so I was back to jeans and boots!)
With the Sorels I am showing you the Desigual off-white bag I’m highly considering keeping. I have also been keeping an eye out for a new light-colored bag for the warm months, and I think this makes a nice complement with the Sorels and with my other white/light summer shoes. It’s also not so singularly summery that it couldn’t be worn into the rest of the year when I’d like a lighter bag. I love the east-west style (always have, even when it wasn’t trending) and the texture. The straps are a great length, and the zipper works nicely. It’s faux leather but it feels good and not plasticky. For the price point, I don’t mind if it doesn’t last forever, but it seems decently made!
The Fly London are grey and metallic, which works for me, and also makes a nice summer complement for my grey bags (the Bao Bao and the Songmont pictured here). The Flys are a little more casual and they also seem like the kind of shoes I could walk all day in. The Sorels are also comfortable and very walkable but a little less casual.
I’ve already returned the other candidates. I’ll be looking at these more with various outfits to make sure they’d all be useful.
I already have a good selection of lower-profile, more refined flat sandals, so I’m pretty sure I’m set there. If I keep these, this would complete my spring/summer footwear shopping for the year!
