With all the midi talk these days, I thought about this skirt that my mom made for me ~10 years ago. I think I may have posted this here a year or two ago, and the consensus then was to shorten it. I never got around to doing that though. Now that slimmer midis seem to be trending, what do we think?
Styled with a patterned blouse and the EF booties. It's a non-stretch wool fabric, so definitely wintery and I would probably wear darker tights. I could also wear heeled or flat oxfords, or midcalf or tall boots. I do not wear low vamp shoes or pumps in general.
What do we think about the hem width? Unfortunately I don't think it can easily be tapered as the fabric has no stretch and this width is about as narrow as I can get while still being able to walk somewhat normally. There is no back seam (only side seams) so I couldn't add a back vent, and I think a side vent would just make it flap around, no?
Please ignore the line down the front. It's a crease from being folded up and I'd iron it out before wearing!
ETA: I decided it could maybe be tapered a little bit. So I've tried pinning it, about 2" on each side on the bottom with about a 4-5" tall dart. Photo 4 is tapered, 5 is the original hem. Sorry for bad photography - hope you can see a difference. Any better?
