Last month I posed a question about coats, and puffer trends.

And this is what just came in the mail. I don't know what to think! I kind of love it and I’m kind of horrified at the same time! Love the bright, happy colour, the light weight, even the rectangular shape. Comfortable and easy to move in it. But, is it too much? It is so long and really does resemble a sleeping bag. Have a laugh at my expense and REALLY let me know what you think.

I think it looks great. IMO, it's actually pretty streamlined for a maxi puffer, not "too much" at all. I used to have one that completely swamped me, but yours works well with your frame. And the color is nice--somewhat bright and eye-catching but not overly so.

I think that if you try it on with some scarves and mittens to add interest to the long expanse of color, you might feel that it is less over the top.

I wish I had that coat right now...inside but the fireplace. It is really cold with about 10 inches of new snow and bitter cold. I vote KEEP.

I really like that color on you and would be interested in seeing the puffer on you with a hood/fur attached. After living in Seattle for a number of years I just can't wear puffers/jackets without a hood (usually helps to deal with bright colors and feels nice against skin).
Long scarf, winter boots, mittens and you are set for cold winter.
I'm wondering what would fit under that puffer - heavy cardigan, puffer vest, jacket..

Puffer looks great. Yes, it’s longer on you than the model, but it’s fairly streamlined and has subtle waist curve which I think offsets the volume. I vote keep (having myself searched for a long puffer for over an year, finally ordering one and received it yesterday, forecast is for a warm, spring like weather though )

Great colour. A long puffer is perfect for our winters. This one looks cheerful. Just what you need when it is -30 C.

Looks good to me! The only caveat may be the colour. Are you happy with it? Does it go well with the rest of your wardrobe?

I LOVE the color on you! Bright and happy, for sure. I am not personally a fan of the looong puffers on myself, because they feel like a sleeping bag, but I don't think this one looks bad on you - just a personal preference thing.

Keep! Such a useful longer length - I am guessing the days when you wear it really will warrant the investment.

i totatlly admit to owning a looong puffer (aka a sleeping bag with arms) and i cann't imagine getting thru winter without if....i vote keep...and the color is fun and excellant to perk up a dreary winter day

No laughing from me either. I love a long puffer and I love to be warm and cozy. After spending a weekend each February in Buffalo NY walking to and from swim meets I became a convert. I live in PA and it can get pretty cold here too so mine gets plenty of wear. As long as it's comfortable, not too big and you can walk without struggling I say keep.

I adore the color, and you look really happy in it! It’s not terribly overwhelming for such a long puffer, and that’s also a darn good price point for such a piece, so I say KEEP!

If I lived somewhere cold, I would definitely have one of these, likely floor length. I like this too, although I must admit, I really love the mustard puffers in inspo picture #7.

Does it matter if it goes with your wardrobe? You won’t see anything except hat, mitts, scarf and boots! This coat is cut so well for full length puffer. Having lived in cold climates most of my life, I say keep! I find the color quite cheerful and relatively ‘clear’ for that kind of coat. My own long coat is in one of those ‘muddy’ shades and I do sigh a bit when putting it on for the 100th time in a season. Great

No laughing from me. I have a long puffer myself, and very often when I wear it, people--even complete strangers--will come up to me and ask where it was purchased. As a person who will often wear skirts and dresses even in deep winter, I really treasure my long winter coats including my long puffer.

You wear the long puffer better than the models do, Carla, and pic #2 is GORGEOUS! Neither the coat shape nor the colour is "too much."

General comment: It's UPLIFTING to see people in non-neutral coats, especially in dark winter. If you have a couple of neutral coats already, I think it is a GREAT idea to let your next coat be non-neutral.

It's a great color and seems to fit well. If you need something for the cold, it seems like a good purchase. It's not cold enough where I live for long puffers so I've actually never seen one of these in real life.

WOW! Unanimous for KEEP! Thanks for your opinions. Colour and comfort for the win. The pluses are:

Colour (definitely in my wheelhouse)
Comfort (lightweight, warm, very easy to sit, walk - don’t even need to open zippers at the hem sides, or two way front zipper in order to walk.)
Simple (no bells and whistles, one internal chest pocket and good placement of fleece lined side pockets)
Removable hood (I HATE hoods on coats, so always remove - just my personal preference)
Long (a pro and a con - I think I would love it more if it was about 6 inches shorter, and this is my only quibble)

This may very well become my ‘go to’ for running errands, ducking out to the gym, urban trekking with DH for the next 6 months. (I think it was Joy’s post and photos in ‘Off Topic’ that sold me!

Below, some quick styling options using what I have (#1-2). Styling inspo from Pinterest is minimal - long puffer over outfit - maybe a bag, but no other real accessories, or a Pom Pom hat like in #3. Think I’ll look for a Pom Pom hat for a less classic look (and a Starbucks to keep my hands warm). Though DH prefers conventionally flattering fits, he’s okay with this puffer since I ‘marketed’ it to him as my nod to his (like, forever!) favourite team! #4 is DS#2’s hat, and he says I’m not getting it.

I think this coat looks nice and toasty, without looking like a sleeping bag. I was concerned that it didn’t have a hood, but now I see that it does have one. It’s a win in my book!

Wow Carla that coat is amazing, and you wear it so well.

I have resisted getting a puffer (I know, and I'm Canadian too) largely because none of them are long enough to meet my needs/preferences. So now my only quibble is, your screen shot does not say where you ordered it from! I am having my first serious case of FOMO.
