Keep/return, NAS & non - YouLookFab Forum

I already returned some NAS items that weren’t quite right, but still have a few I am wondering about. I have given up on trying to get good photos and am settling for merely non-execrable (ish).

1 - This is the Bobeau ribbed cardigan - looks black in the photo but is actually dark purple.
2- This is a mesh knit top from Amber Moon - I feel good in it but when I look at the pictures I am not so sure.
3- Ditto this black tank from Amber Moon - it is hard to see the cowl neck detail. I am leaning toward return on this one - I really need a L in the shoulders and an XL at the tummy (this is an XL).

And non-NAS, some shoes. When it rains it pours, I guess - I needed to replace my black heels and found these two pair in different places, both on sale. Which do you like, or think will be more useful? 4 is Steve Madden, 5 is Me Too.

I think the Bobeau sweater looks fab on you! Not so sure about the two tops. I love the little detailing on the Me Too pumps; subtle but giving them some texture and added interest. Are both pairs equally comfy?

I too like the cardigan, Laura! I'm not sure about the first B&W top, there's something about the fit I think. I like the drapey collar of the black one. Both pairs of shoes are nice, I'm with Sparky about the buckle detailing adding a bit more interest, but I would definitely go for the pair that is most comfortable.

Oh yeah, I meant to say that the Me Toos are maybe a tad more comfy when tried on, but both seem OK (insamuch as you can tell with shoes before you actually wear them for a whole day). I personally like the buckle detail but was afraid it was a little old lady-ish as opposed to the more pointed toes of the SMs.

I like 1, 3 and 4

I think the cardi drapes beautifully on you; and I think the top in #3 you'll get a lot of use out of, as it is very versatile. I am not a big fan of the fit of #2 however.

I like the simple Steve Madden pumps; I don't really like the buckles on the Me Too; they seem rather fussy without adding elegance. Maybe if there was only one?

I like the cardigan - I bet it is really pretty IRL! I also like both tops - I think #2 is a great "neutral" pattern that you can get a lot of wear out of by layering over it - I think I would scruff up the sleeves to the elbow if I were you to give it a little more interest - I also think it shows off your beautiful neck and collar bones. #3 is also very nice - like the different panels - gives it interest and again this shows off your neck and collar bones! As far as the shoes go - I like the Steve Madden's best - they look more modern to me and clean. The Me Toos are just too "older lady" for my taste!

I like the cardigan, and if it's really purple even better! I'm not sure on the patterned top, but I do like the black one. I'd go with the Steve Madden heels over the Me Toos, for the same reasons as Marley

I think that the cardi and the black top are fab! I'm don't have very strong feelings one way or the other about the shoes - they both look great to me.

the black top in 2 is my fave...it gives you a waist. i like the cardi as well, but i think the shorts need a shorter sweater?

steve madden in silver is my fave. i like the buckle detail on miz mooz.

I think the cardi in #1 is terrific for you; I can imagine you look amazing in the colour. A great topper for your next public reading!

I also REALLY like top #2; my first impression was FAB because the neckline is pretty on you and draws attention up to your face, but then I noticed it seems to maybe have some fit issues. Could you try it in a different size (or sizes?) I am always amazed at how sometimes that can make all the difference with an item. Sometimes it is no go, but in this case, worth a shot, if available?

The black top in #3 is also great. If the shoulders are a problem, can you have them tightened (taken up) a tiny bit? Sometimes that will be enough.

As for the shoes, I like the plainer Steve Maddens better, personally, but both are nice. Which is more comfortable? The others have a rounder toe box so might feel better over long periods, depending on the shape of your foot.

I like the cardi and the Amber Sun cowl neck. I've seen that one IRL and it's a great basic layering piece. The other Amber Sun top is tricky to wear, IMO, because of the line under the bust. I like both pairs of pumps -- pick the one that's most comfy!

Did you try a size up on the mesh top?

The sleeveless amber sun tops are GREAT and you look sensational in them.

Go with the more comfy pair of shoes - both are fantastic.

The black tank from Amber Moon is my favourite top I've seen on you. I adore that the shoulders aren't just straight but have shape. The not too sweet sweetheart neckline is killer stunning. I know it is a cowl and irl looks different but I don't think this could look bad. I have a similar shoulder/stomach figure so know if the shoulders are too big how it feels frumpy but don't see that at all in the pic.

Love the cardigan and shoes. Go for comfiest. I have to laugh at myself as I was thinking the toe detail was hip and young. I'm an old lady though so I guess that just proves your theory that they are old lady shoes...

I'm not a fan of teh mesh top. What does it look like with white bottoms?

Well, opinion appears divided on the shoes I will mull a bit more and check my budget; maybe I can manage to keep them both since they were each a good deal.

The thing with the mesh top is that in photos (and maybe in person too) the broken-up nature of the print makes it look like it's too stretched over my midsection - it actually fits really well (and is the largest size anyway). I was hoping that the ruching and print would disguise the tummy, but apparently it's emphasizing it instead.

Re: the fit in #2, is the issue with the shoulders that there is too much fabric/room in the shoulder strap area in the XL? If so, that's a easy tailoring fix -- I'm short-torsoed and have had it done many times on sleeveless tops and dresses.

I prefer the shoes with the buckle detail.

I like everything except #2, and I suggest keeping both pairs of shoes. In #2, it is the print, not you. The rough nature of the print and the way the print has lines and shadows is going to create unwanted texture on everyone's mid-section. Same thing happening on the arms. There are all of these horizontal lines on the sleeves but when you look at your arms in picture #3 you have very smooth arms with zero lines.
