Technically, I'm on SYC, but one of the fab items for my closet holes has come up ... "FAB RED DRESS" and I need your help to see if this one fits the bill!

I read your shoe story and found it quite funny. I hit the naturalizer outlet store in Las Vegas in spring and bought the most comfortable high heels ever there. I can wear those babies for 10 hours and not ache. I hope your new shoes are equally comfy.

The red dress is great and with the neutrals, it looks perfect.

Edited to add: Not explicitly said, but a keeper to me.

Ooh la la! Superfoxy yet edgy outfit - I vote for definitely keep the dress!

OMG, I love Naturalizer! I have two mid-heeled booties and high heeled sandals from them, and they are truly soooo comfy! I remember being told that store was for "old ladies" and being shocked because I have always had success shopping there and I ain't ready to be called "old" just yet!!! I think the person making that comment only took a cursory glance at their offerings and really hasn't kept up to date on what they have to offer. I think the slightly higher-than-average prices are worth the comfort and longevity.

That said, woohoo for the red dress!

You are the queen of bargain shopping...$10 Naturalizers? Wow, you will wear these nude pumps with everything and they look so comfy. You must keep that red dress..so versatile and you look stunning in red! It can be dressed up or down and I love the ways you have styled it. Oh, and by the way, don't listen to your parents...your hair is perfect as is! You wouldn't look like you with long hair...just like Suz, you should keep it short!

Lyn, I agree with all that it is a fab red dress. I just feel like I need to echo Jonesy's concern from several months ago about dressing appropriately for your age, level, and position. When I was first starting out in my career, I did not understand the impact of my attire. I was working at a college where there was not much of a dress code. Almost everyone in my department dressed casually and as natural scientists, their work uniform consisted mostly of field appropriate gear. My petite stature and youthful appearance, coupled with casual clothes, made me appear very young. I would dress up for meetings but on the whole I looked more like a student than staff. As time went on, I realized I had to dress in a more mature way to be taken seriously. That doesn't necessarily mean dressing in a boring or matronly way, just with a higher level of sophistication.... and I don't mean to imply that this dress isn't sophisticated but how you have it styled with the leggings just screams cute, young and fun to me, but without the leggings it is very short. This isn't necessarily what I want to see from my doctor.
