Keep/purge: cognac Dansko sandals

These cognac sandals were actually my first thought when I saw the "brown accents" ensemble this morning, but I was kind of dissatisfied with the final product so I switched to my bronze gladiators. It got me thinking that I really haven't been reaching much for these cognac Danskos. I'm wondering if it's time for them to go.

Pros:
--super comfortable. And they are the rare Danskos that are actually not too wide or deep for my feet.
--They make me tall but feel flat. (Note that I am still loving this type of platform sandal so that is not an issue. I don't care if it's not super trendy.)
--I don't own any other cognac or brown sandals.
--They are pretty flattering and make my legs look great.

Cons:
--As I said, I'm just not reaching for them much.
--I wonder if they are more my old style than my current style. They seem quite retro to me and my style is definitely getting a lot more avant-garde lately. I am wanting edgier things. Part of this is that I want a more sophisticated look and these maybe seem a bit more young or twee?
--I also have my Naot Unions (pic 4), which are a lot edgier and I think I am choosing those when I want a chunky sandal.
--As above, I don't own any other cognac or brown sandals. But maybe this is because I don't wear them.

--or do they just look too much like comfort shoes????

So what do you think? Keep or toss?

I would say keep until you find a replacement pair equal to or more than. I like them.

I like them and don't think they look too twee or sweet. But I do like the retro look a bit.

I say keep until you find the perfect replacement -- if you have room for them. Or until the sight of them makes you run from the room!

Seriously, I don't think they reflect your current style direction so much, so I can see why you do not reach for them anymore. But it sounds as if they might fill a practical need at times and so if you have room, hang on.

They look super cute with your cherry blossoms, but I also know how you feel. I've a pair of sandals just like your Danskos here. They feel to boho to me now, and I'm not feeling them.

I say keep, especially if they are super comfy. I think they look good on you for more casual looks.

Given the comfort level you describe I would keep until I replaced and maybe beyond. I suspect you will come back to these as they look good on you and they are classic. Maybe you just need some time apart :).

For me it is so hard to find just the right heel height, and straps in the right place--keep, even if you box up.
I am using shoe replacements as part of updating but for some shoes especially heel-ish ones, I need to keep the shoes and update tops or bottoms.
This is also more of an issue for items that are a smaller % of my wear time--for me that includes casual sandals- as they don't get enough wear to justify a frequent overhaul.

I have the sugar eye for Dansko and have many pairs. I have eyed these but not purchased as they seem a little retro. I just bought the 2 strap sophias in that greenish black speckle (they may call it shaheen?) because it felt fresh and new to me. Love the Naots here as they do feel a little more edgy. But I trade edgy for comfort any day. So I'm no help. I would keep if you have space as there may be a situation where these are perfect.

I vote keep until you can replace. Comfy shoes are HARD to find and you walk a lot. xo

Thanks, everyone. I think I will keep for now. There is plenty of room in my summer shoe rack anyway and you are right that there are situations that are perfect for these. For example, we go to the berkshires a lot in summer and I think the naot platforms are too urban for the country and will look out of place, but these more sedate ones will be just right.

I was going to say, before I read the responses, Keep! They are cute on you and are quite classic--I agree that after time apart you may be glad to come back to them. Also to my eye, from the pictures, they are a shade or two cooler than a true cognac and work well with your skin tone.
