Keep/ return Veja Venturi sneakers

I purchased these online last week. Arrived and first try on. Comfortable except the laces are very tight - which I was warned about.

Please excuse iPhone charger and paintings on the floor. And pop Sox!

I could exchange for the campo or v10 or other styles.

If you like them, there are ways to lace them for a better fit. Running and hiking vlogs are full of videos…

I think we should normalize not apologizing for our not-even-that-messy homes. It's all good!

When you say the laces are tight, do you mean the fit across the top of the foot, whether or not the laces are tied? Or do you mean the amount of give in the laces when you move around?

I’m confused about the laces being too tight ? They look loose in the photo ….and don’t you adjust them anyways ?

I had to untie about 1/3 of the laces to get my foot in, and then I have adjusted them again to do so. The fit is comfortable although I am just sitting at my desk. The laces don't have much give and getting the foot in and out was harder than with my other sneakers. I purchased them from a local boutique (online - but had some emails about sizing first) and I was warned about this and not to worry.

They are different to my other sneakers which was my goal. The Allbirds are a bit stained now so in the VERY casual outing basket (walk to the local shop, walk around the park etc)

That sounds like they may stretch out then. If they're comfortable when you have them on and you don't mind the extra few seconds to get them on and off, I say keep!

I just ordered a new pair of sneakers myself--a new-to-me brand, so I'm hoping they work. My AllBirds still look great, but the state of my back after a long walk tells me they're breaking down structurally.

I think they will be fine in terms of comfort. I was planning on getting new sandals (and I am not ruling that out) but I haven't quite seen the right ones. I was keen to try Veja as they certainly have a great reputation and these seemed different to what I already have (but not totally outside my comfort zone).

They’re kind of Dad-sneaker-ish in their look? Is that what you’re after?
They do seem different from your others so if you like them and can make the laces comfortable then go for it.

Ditto to trying a different lacing style. I'd think they couldn't help but feel tight the way they are.

Thanks Minaminu - I like them - life is very casual here due to lockdown - I have to wear covered shoes at work and these will be cooler than leather in summer - I think.

Suntiger - I will experiment with the laces. I am sure I can make them work.

Jenni - they are Dad sneakeresque. I wanted something that I can wear to work and also on casual walks. I was looking for sandals and bought these instead - a lockdown treat from a local boutique.

I can't comment on comfort that is up to you of course, but I LOVE the look of these- great color combo in warious shades of lightest neutrals is always a good idea for us blonde (especially the tan sole comming up on front toe- is a detail I always find usefull for keeping them cleaner and getting the right proportions/accent on my feet for various pant's/skirt's lengths and bulkier outerwear).

They look good. I find some sneaker laces to be rather “sticky” — they don’t loosen and tighten very easily, so it can be more work to get feet in and out of them. I think switching to a more slippery style of laces could help that, but sometimes it’s also the nature of the grommets too. I do accept that some lace-up shoes and sneakers simply take a moment longer to put on, to tighten and loosen laces. Not a deal breaker to me. I do have a problem with many laces being too long after I tie them (goes with the territory of low volume feet and having to lace the shoes more tightly). I just double knot them and forget about it, even though in theory I could buy shorter laces!

They look great! I think Veja does a great job of designing shoes that nod to trends without making you look like you’re trying to hard. If they’re comfortable, I’d keep them. Maybe look into swapping out the laces if you think the stock ones are a problem?

These look very current to me. If you think they will break in, I'd keep. They look great with jeans and I'm betting are just the ticket to wear with summer dresses too.

Sorry for being cryptic late last night. If the footbed is a good fit, you can easily adjust the fit of the uppers by varying the lacing pattern. You might also consider elasticated laces.

My gut feeling is that they look great! There's something cool and retro, but also modern, that feels very authentic to your style.

But do they feel great? If you find they don't, then send them back. The Universe will always send cool new shoes.

My doubt was around two things - firstly the laces but of course I can change the lacing style or even the laces….. And secondly whether a Dad style was good for me. Which is also silly because I like them and know I will wear them even if it is for work.

They look good and I like the colour combo for you. I'm not sure re the laces, though -- it could just be the lacing pattern or it could be a fit issue, as in a higher arch/ instep than the shoe is designed for. So maybe wear them around the house first?
