Dear friends,

I recently ordered this pair of pumpkin-orange suede pants from an outlet. I love suede and leather pants, so I wanted to see if they would suit my style and wardrobe. The price was incredible—they had a last pair in my size, reduced by about 80%. The quality seems excellent.

Here, I’ve styled them in various ways—some quite simple and others more experimental. I’m leaning toward keeping them, but I’d love to hear your opinion.

1–2: Styled with a black cardigan, black patent leather boots, a silk scarf, and an orange bag. This would be my go-to styling.
3–4: Styled with a black belted jacket, another scarf, and a large grey handbag (a new-to-me thrifted Dolce & Gabbana—yay!).
5–6: Styled with a dark olive velvet blazer and a wool-patterned olive scarf (also thrifted and now coming in handy!). I could add an olive bag, and as Angie says, "Bob's your uncle."
7–9: Experimenting with a dusty lilac/pink blazer and a scarf that ties the colors together, plus a lilac sweater.
10: Styled with a Missoni poncho layered over a black blouse.
11–13: Playing with pattern mixing. I paired the pants with a burgundy/gold-patterned jacket (thrifted many years ago) and added a woolen scarf from Kenzo (also very old). Finished with an orange bag.

Pros:

  • Unusual color for me.
  • High quality.
  • Statement-making, fun item.
  • Great price.
  • Comfy.

Cons:

  • Unusual color for me (LOL).
  • Unsure if the style and fit are current—maybe they feel a bit dated? This isn’t necessarily a dealbreaker, but it’s something to consider. I’ve realized (thank's to Angie's suggestions and advice) that bottoms (whether current or not) make such a big difference. For example, cargo pants today tend to be roomier and maybe more full-length, or am I wrong?

What do you think? If you’ve made it this far, I’d appreciate your feedback very much!
