Well I am certainly on a roll!!

Here's an album of 12 (yes 12!) items that have either NEVER EVER been worn, or only worn once - what an awful waste!

Rather than making this post enormous, I've added my comments to each pic, so feel free to either comment here or on the album.

I've pretty much decided on most things, but of course I really value all of your input - you will no doubt see something I can't!

Also, something I'm really interested in, is what you think of some of these colours on me - there's a few here I have not worn much/since - I know Angie has told me blue based colours work best for me, but I'm not great with colours, so appreciate your feedback here too. The red dress is definitely an orangey red, but not quite as orange as it appears in this photo.

I told E I was taking pics and sending them to some lovely wise ladies who would help me decide what to keep, and she's told me the 2 things she thinks I should keep so I'm curious to see who agrees with my 6 year old LOL

Oh what fun. Ok here's my two cents.
1-pink linen-like the shape, color looks to light/pale for you, toss.
2-military dress-I like this, edgy, colors not bad. I can see this with boots and I'm not sure, long sleeves underneath? Vote keep.
3-brown skirt top, looks ok, don't love this set. The colors are also only ok to me, not awful, but not super fab. Vote toss.
4-Brown dress-I almost like it, maybe if it were in a smaller size. Vote toss.
5-Green/white dress-Another only ok one to me, I think the colors are too warm for you. Also not a fan of the ruffles near the bust area. I vote toss.
6-Black and White dress-I love this! Add some red shoes and a red necklace and you are good to go. I love what the detail does to your waist. I vote keep.
7-Blue stud top-Love this color on you. Not loving the top style, vote toss.
8-Chiffon top-I actually like this one. It's really sweet, maybe add a pencil skirt and killer heels, to offset the sweet with edgy? I vote keep.
9-White and black chiffon top-This top looks too short, I vote toss.
10-Red dress-what else can I say but wow, keep.
11-White with green dress-not a fan of this one, I would like to see more color. I vote toss. Also I'm not a fan of the very thin straps on you, how do you feel about a thicker strap for dresses?
12-Maxi dress-I'm not usually a fan of these, but you must be tall because you pull it off. And the print, lovely. I don't see any issues fit wise and vote keep.

So let's see how I fared compared to others.

Hi Theresa, I will try to keep on track here:
#1 - shape looks good on you but if fit is not right - toss!
#2 - I like this military dress and like this color on you. Does it need to be belted that low? I would remove the self belt and wear it as tunic with leggings or skinnies and boots.
#3-4 brown skirt/top - toss. Actually I do not mind these colors on you - they look more orangy than brown on mu screen - but style is not working for you.
#5 Brown dress - I am not a fan either - too juvenile
#6 green/white dress : pretty summer dress
#7 white/black dress - I am not sure about this one...
#8 - blue one shoulder - toss
#9 cream top - toss
#10-11 White and black chiffon top - I would use it for layering under jackets. It can be very cool with denim or leather jacket. Also polka dot...
#12 red dress - not a fan of this one
#13 white with green dress - if you shorten it can be a nice summer dress
#14 - nice print - maybe you can sew the skirt into tunic or blouse?

I would definitely give the military dress a second chance. No need for styling. Throw in a pair of gladiator sandals and you're in business.
The white and black print dress also looks good to me. What is bothering you about it?

Sorry if I repeat what someone else's said, ...
1 - the shape is great but the color's too blah on you
2 - too short on its own, maybe? It's not my style, though, so.
3/4 - I don't think the closed-in halter is flattering on you
5 - it's cute but again maybe a little short in the skirt
6 - colors aren't quite right, otherwise good
7 - I think this is great - maybe a tad long in the skirt, could use an inch or so off, and maybe some red heels, you'd be awesome.
8 - not my favorite, there's a lot going on there, maybe too much
9 - fits well in the pic, but if it's too 'prissy' for your style, toss it...
10/11 - same as previous (I get that 'shirts riding up and hanging on my butt shelf' thing too, sigh)
12 - from the picture it looks like there might be some fit issues in the mid-chest, but maybe that's an artifact of the photo. This could be fabulous.
13 - I'm ambivalent; it's sweet but not amazing
14 - I don't think these colors flatter you, and you're right that it's pretty bare on top

I really like the pink linen dress on you. I think it has potential. The military dress is great. Keep it! I think the browns/oranges are not your best colors. The green/white dress is sweet. It looks breezy and summery. You MUST keep that red dress and find reasons to wear it! Wow!

Lisa I'm actually only 5'4" so I consider myself actually kind of short!

Sveta you chose an interesting word to describe the brown dress - juvenile - in a previous post when I was considering this dress, I'm sure that was the exact word that Angie used!!!

Bella I think the reason the black & white dress bothers me is that its just a stretchy jersey and I wonder if it looks cheap? I don't know! I do love the whole look of it, just the fabrication...

Laura I think the mid chest issues of the red dress are the way I've tied it (I just quickly did it for the pic LOL).

BJ1111 I have never had anyone compliment my clavicles, so THANK YOU!

I'm curious to see what other comments we get!!

Here are my opinions, without reading the other comments:

Keep:
- gray military dress
- top from the brown skirt/top set. You look HOT in that top.
- red dress. Another one that makes you look SUPER hot.

I would recommend tossing everything else, as it's either not so flattering or dated.

Thanks Medusa - I was only just thinking about the age of some of these and they do range over a good 13 odd years... and I think it does show!

OK, I have to be honest... I'm going to need help here... There are a few I'm having a hard time contemplating putting in the charity box... Most I'm totally ok with though!

So, here are the things I'm torn on and think I'm needing some very precise reasons to ditch the following: (Actually, I probably don't need reasons - I just need that prod!)

*White dress with green print - I haven't worn it as a brunette! But, I am wondering where I may wear this again? I can't wear it around the kids (the colour!), or to the races again... Maybe a summer wedding... not that I know anyone getting married LOL

* Red Dress - I think its a beautiful dress, but I'm not convinced the colour is my absolute best red (actually I think that's what's holding me back - I adore all things red LOL), and I'm not sure where I would wear it again...

* Black & White dress - have had it for 3 years and still not worn it and I'm wondering if that is a subconscious signal... even though I love the design & fit, its the fabric that keeps holding me back.

Would it be ok to keep just these three (oh and definitely the military dress) as "just in case" types of dresses?

OK I think I'm just being a sook now!

White dress with green print: not great coloring on you, not that flattering. TOSS!

Red dress: I actually love this dress. If you want to keep it, I'm not going to stop you.

Black and white dress: If you haven't worn it in 3 years, it just doesn't work for you. It's a beautiful dress that deserves a good home where it can be appreciated, and not left to languish in the closet. Help the black and white dress live up to its full potential by donating it.

My faves are the military style dress (leggings and ballet flats?), the red dress (I am not that finnicky about colors, though. I think it looks good on you.), the black and white dress, and the maxi dress. Can you wear a fitted tee under it or a jacket over it? I like the print. If you don't want to mess with it then toss, though. A lot of the dresses and all of the tops just seem too sweet for you. I think your style is more edgy, isn't it?

Medusa that is such a great point about the B&W dress - there is obviously a reason I'm not wearing it, but I really shouldn't deprive it of a life!

And Jenava you just nailed it (and I had an a-haaa moment!) - my style has been increasingly developing an edgy vibe and they really are a bit too sweet for me!

Now, the reason I actually logged back on was for the Aussies - if any of you want anything you see here that I'm not keeping (obviously not the tragic stuff - but the girly tops etc LOL), please let me know - I'd be more than happy to post them to you rather than donate them - they are all 8-10's but can get more details if anyone wants.

Theresa I love the military dress. I think it would really work well with leggings and ballet flats or you could try it over skinnies with a different belt (maybe?) or no belt. What about with skinnies, boots and your leather jacket?

I also love the red dress. Kind of see what you mean about it not being your best red but I still think it looks great on you. I think it would be a great special occasion dress to have in your wardrobe.

I also like the black and white dress looks lovely but if you haven't worn in 3 years maybe there's your answer.

Green and white dress could be great on your hot summer nights by the beach. You could keep it for this summer and see if you get some wear out of it.

I actually also think the maxi dress looks quite good on you (shhh, don't tell Angie!!) but I see what you mean about coverage.

Theresa, have you considered selling any of them? I've used ebay to sell some clothes that were great but not right for me, and it made me feel much better about letting them go because I could use the profits to buy clothes I knew I would actually use!

Oh, this is fun! I should do this with my wardrobe if I can ever get my camera to work.... (grrrr)

I love the edge of the military style dress and like the suggestions from the other ladies.

The red dress has potential, but if you really aren't ever going to wear it and it doesn't have huge amounts of sentimental value - out it goes.

The black and white dress makes your waist look teeny-tiny, but if you don't like it, well, it should go!

I think the colouring of the green and white dress isn't as flattering as it could be, but I'm wondering if you took off the green belt, changed it in for a red belt and added your red necklace, whether it would warm it up a bit? It has potential because it is super light and when it is uber hot and humid - you need those kinds of dresses.

Pink linen and pink chiffon (?) needs to go.

None of the tops made me say, keep me - I think you have bought far more flattering tops recently. And like you say, comfort is key!

Maxi, mmmmmm, not sure about this one. It does give you an impressive cleavage though!

That's all I can remember. You are doing so well! Are you going to become all precise and colour/season code your wardrobe when you're finished?

okay just read other's comments as well as yours about the 3 dresses. Yes, Theresa, I would keep them as any of them could fill a need that you may not want or be able to spend the money on as it comes up.

Thanks for your input girls!

I've slept on it and have made the following decisions:

* Military dress - definitely keeping - possibly even going to wear today!

* Green & white dress with ruffles at boobs - keeping for this coming summer. If its worn great, if not, off it goes.

* Red dress - keeping for now - I thought I can always add one of my black jackets over it to dilute the colour around my face... but, I will give it one more calendar year in my wardrobe in which to be worn!

* White & Green dress - again, will keep for one more calendar year. Maybe with a cropped denim jacket it might be better and worn out of an evening?

* Black & White - still undecided! The problem I have with the fabric is that it just feels "cheap" - its just a lightweight poly jersey kind of fabric that is incredibly see through and VERY stretchy. Yes, it drapes well, and I adore the fit and style of the dress, but I've realised the word "cheap" keeps coming to mind whenever I think about it - and you know, it was actually cheap to purchase too LOL

Everything else is going. So Aussies, let me know if you are interested in anything.

I did think about ebay Kate, still am, but the last couple of things I've sold I've had to deal with non-paying bidders and it was just such a hassle and I only made such small amounts I wasn't sure it was really even worth it... have to see if I get brave and try again LOL
