Keep or toss? Baseball Keds (in an outfit flop)

I wore them yesterday to play tennis. I wasn't happy with my outfit overall (I tossed the shirt upon returning home). Funny that Angie's blog today is about feeling contrived. The shoes, belt, and jacket together went over the line from cute in a kitschy way to contrived for me. I did play without my jacket on, so that helped - a little.
Back to the shoes - would you keep and just style them a little better or send them on their way? They are real leather and decently padded in the insole. Thanks.

Personally I like the shoes. You may have a little too much white going on, but those would look great with jeans.

I like them and don't think the baseball style is all that noticeable. They look like nice Keds. I could see them with clams and a tee with a cropped cardi. What was the matter with the tee? It looks good to me.

I will try them again without the repeating white theme and see if that doesn't jibe better. Kelly, the tee is too snug and rides up (also found the pits constricting while playing). Also, it's not really a color I wear. It's an attempt to dye red that failed lol. Heck, it was only $5 several years back; I got my pennies CPW out of it!

Oh, okay. I thought it looked nice but you had me at pit constriction. Yuck. I'd say you got your money out of it! The Keds look SO much better than the running shoes I wear--I would keep them for active days. I hope you can make them work because they certainly sound useful for your lifestyle!

I like the keds (without visible socks though) Cute and can be worn with anything you'd wear cons or similar with and need coverage and/or comfort.

What about the shoes makes them feel corny to you, Malina? Maybe you just aren't sporty at heart? To me, this is a very sporty style. Do you have other shoes that can take on a round of tennis?

Rae, I think you may be on to something . . . although Angie and Denise both see sporty in my style, I don't really think of myself that way. I mean, I do a lot of sporty things, but don't aim for it in my style. Perhaps I need to play down that vibe of the shoe and it will feel more 'me'. I love the play on the baseball - which is why I got them, but I don't think I'd ever wear Keds otherwise.

I have no problem with the shoes, I think they look good on you but if you are tired of them, they should go. It's actually the belt that isn't working for me, I'd rather see a skinny belt and in a different color.

I guess I could see you as having a sporty bent to your style if we're talking motor sports... the zippered skinnies and structured jackets seem to fit into that vibe. But that doesn't really help with your shoe question, does it? Maybe you could try inserting these sneakers into an outfit that is more like one you'd usually wear for non-sports activities... and keep if they can integrate well?
