This top and jacket just arrived I like the top not sure about jacket maybe because it's not something I would usually buy as in its not plain. I know they don't match two different patterns so would not be wearing together it's more a question of if the shape works or not jacket does not seem to bad from front but not sure if it gives the impression of huge shoulders from the back lol please ignore head and legs that was dressed for housework thanks for any advise

I think the shape looks fine. Would you have time to style it a few ways? Much easier to answer the question if we can see how you'd wear it. You may even find the answer yourself before you post

Oh I don't know yet lol this years style challenge is to finally dress as an adult, been wearing my college uniform for past 20 years so stepping out of my comfort zone the jacket I was hoping would work with both pants and jeans simple plain top underneath and the top I was thinking jeans and biker jacket with boots but still waiting on more packages before I can put them all together

You might wait until you get more of your packages, but if it isn't something you love, it should go back. You should be able to find pieces that are exciting to you and still step out of your comfort zone. A biker jacket sounds like a good choice.

The top and jacket actually go great together. It is called pattern mixing. No need to match.

Thanks for the tip I would not have a clue about patterns have lived in plain black nearly all my life. Did try a bit of colour about two years ago but wrong colors and wrong material so only highlighted all the bad points so hopefully I'll do better this year

I agree with Joy; it might be good to wait until everything comes; then you can try it all and see what you love and what you are not feeling. For what it's worth, I like both of these pieces.

If I can ask, what are your lifestyle requirements - e.g. are you at home, in the workforce, casual, dressy, etc.? Then it's easier to figure out what pieces will work best! You may have done this step already; if so, ignore me!

I like the jacket! Great silhouette. But you have to like it too. Think it over for a few days.

Monday to Friday I'm at home with an 18 month old and six month old so casual dress then, weekends kids go to dads so want a smarter look for then and something you could wear on the odd night out with friends and something that would work for job interviews so a whole mix

I personally like the shape of the jacket on you, and think it would be very versatile. However, you should try to figure out how you feel while wearing it. Do you feel good?
Also, it's a good idea to wait for the rest of the stuff to arrive, as others suggested.

I don't mind the jacket its a million times nicer then any I have but so different I was not sure of it on me but looking forward to trying it with few different tops and bottoms to find my favourite look

Shaz, the jacket looks good from the front and back. No 'huge' shoulders at all! I really like the front part of the jacket where the opening hangs down in two straight lines. I think it looks clean and modern. You could wear one or two necklaces with it.
I also like your sleevless top and think you could wear it with the jacket you have on in the picture (with some jewelry) and I could also see it with a black blazer.

I'd try the jacket with a nice white tee and your favorite jeans as an option too! Everlane makes good simple cotton tees.

Oh I have a few cotton tees none in white I didn't think white would work on pale freckled people always seem to look lovely on those with a tan however thanks for the tip

I think the shape and fit of the jacket are great on you. Would you consider a graphic tee under it? Yay for pattern mixing in a restricted palette!

A tee with a printed design. I was thinking of a black and white (maybe a splash of red) concert tee. I treasure a particular Elmo tee, but my kids hated it when they were little. Maybe a vintage David Bowie?

Jacket was badly needed I didn't have one and they ran out of the one I really liked when I ordered it. planning on wearing it to smart casual family lunch Saturday maybe with that top but two more tops to come so I'll try both of them with it also and see what you all think another persons eye is always so useful Thanks to everyone for help and advise
