Keep or Return: Uniqlo Items - YouLookFab Forum

I made a Uniqlo order and am looking for feedback on which items are keepers and which to send back.

(I have a bad headache today and don't look my best, so I blacked out my face in the photos, hopefully that isn't too creepy.)

Photos 1-5: Wide Trouser Jeans in navy with a variety of tops/toppers. Photo 1 also features a tee (Mini Short Sleeve T-Shirt in dark green) which I think will go back because something feels off with the shoulders. I think I feel most confident about these jeans. The pockets gape a bit due to my hips, but I think I like them enough otherwise to live with that.

Photos 6-8: Pleated Wide Pants in olive. I'm not sure about these. I think the length is too short for anything but sneakers (in photo 6 I'm wearing shoes with a slight heel) and may even be too short for sneakers.

Photos 9-12: Wide Chino Pants in Black. I'm not sure about these either. The length may be too short?

(Some of these photos I'm wearing the Mini Short Sleeve T-Shirt in both the Dark Green and Blue colors in two sizes. Neither size fits right in the shoulders so I think I'll send both of those back.)

Photo 13: Cotton Relaxed Ankle Pants in Olive. I have some olive joggers that need to be retired due to wear and these are a potential replacement.

Photo 14: Bonus-- striped cardigan I received from Poshmark (Brooks Brothers brand). The yellow is lighter than I expected from the photos but I think I will like it.

The dark trouser jeans look really nice from the front view. I love the t-shirt in #13!!

Favorites are the trouser jeans and the olive pants in 13. The break on the olive wide pants looks about right to me but on you they seem like too much fabric and the black pants in 9-12 are either too short or too long.

Love the first pair the best, but also the 2nd and last pair. I agree the 3rd pair seems a little too short. I have the same mini tee and it's my absolute current favourite! They have several different cuts of tees so maybe another one will feel better for you! Cute cardi!

I like the length for number 1. Also I like the length for the olive with sneakers in 7 and 8. I think the black in 9 are a tad too short even with sneakers. Did you try sitting down in these? I find when pants are a little short standing they rise quite a bit while sitting and end up exposing a lot of sock which I don’t personally like. I like the outfit in 13 and wouldn’t change a thing. This crop pair shows the right amount of ankle to my eye. The yellow cardigan in 14 is so pretty on you. You have some nice finds here. And this reminds me I have a pair of Paige jeans I need to test shoe lengths with, maybe I will post it. I hope your headache goes away soon. Feel better!

The cardigan is really nice. I think the jeans are good and the pleated pants in 6 - 8, the length looks good, especially in 7 & 8 (I think they have a specific look and vibe at this length). Love your moto. Let us see what Angie (Queen of Perfect Pants Lengths) says

I like the jeans, looks like they fit really well. I think the length looks fine on the khaki pants but would agree the black ones seem a smidge short. Love your last outfit.

My fave is the trouser jeans in photos 1-5, I was tempted by them too when I was in Uniqlo recently, but I already have too many jeans to begin with.
I had also tried on the same black wide-leg chinos, loved them and actually brought them home with me, but then I got realistic about them and decided they were really too much fabric in the width for me. I couldn’t see how all that fabric would work with our slushy winters and they are definitely too hot to wear in summer, so I returned them.

It seems like there is agreement that the trouser jeans fit well. The only thing that gives me pause about them is that the trouser jeans are a lot like the navy chinos I bought at the thrift store earlier this summer (photo of those below). However, the Uniqlo jeans have a better length-- the thrifted chinos are a bit too short with a lot of my shoes.

My 2 cents:

Jenny, the trouser jeans in #1 to #5 look KILLER AWESOME. And you have gorgeous hips! The pockets are behaving from what I can see here

#6 - #8 - I LOVE the way these drape and fit! Just. So. Yummy! Too short for anything but flats (and regular sneakers) - AND! Can you let them down an inch and a half in the hem? They are begging for a bit of drapey length.

#9- #12 - KILLER at this new shorter full length!

#13 - super cute!

#14- excellent Summer cardi!

Wow, Angie. Looking back at the Uniqlo website, I see you are correct and the black pants are meant to be that shorter length. I don't know how I missed this before!

I don't consider myself particularly tall (I'm a bit above 5' 6.25") but my legs are long and my torso is short so sometimes I do need a long length if I want to wear anything with even a bit of a heel.

Jenny, didn't look at the length of the chinos but they did hit a pet-peeve
of mine. The pleats and the front zipper are not symmetrical; one side has more width then the other.
These pants fit you so well, like they were made for you, well done.

Do you have hems to take down in the wide olive pleated pants?

Angie, the hem on the olive pants measures exactly 1.5" to the serged edge, which doesn't leave enough for a new seam. But they do have a tall version available and I could exchange for that.

The jeans are perfect and a definite step up from the chinos imho - dressier and more of a statement.
I also really like the olive so will be interesting to see how the Tall fit!

The denim trousers in the first photos look like they were made for you! I think those are definitely keepers! They look great with everything you paired them with!
