These fit ok, I'm generally happy with how they look...the thing I'm not sure about is the shade. I wanted light neutral casual trousers to wear with bright colors in spring and summer. These are just so very khaki, I feel like a State Farm employee. What say you?

ETA, they are packaged up for a return, and I've ordered this linen pair of Boden ones instead. I've been wanting a sailor button pair so this scratches that itch as well.

Jenava, it's a little hard to see the fit in the pic. Colour looks good! Great with blue, black, and deep pinks.

I had to chuckle at remark about looking like a State Farm employee, jenava. The great thing about khaki is that it pairs well with so many colors, especially green, blue and yellow. It also looks great with pastels, bold jewel tones, and bright shades. Keep the pants.

I agree with your assessment. I struggle with this shade in pants too (no issues in jackets or bags etc). My association is different but probably similar. But if anyone can make them work you can....

They don't look bad, though with the red I think Target! It definitely goes with everything!
I think texture can help with making light neutrals seem less uniformish and maybe "less khaki" if that makes sense.

I’m not a fan of khaki. For light pants, I go with white. In the morning, I set my intention not to get the white pants dirty and for the most part I don’t. I see, however, that others highly recommend khaki.

I'm set for white. I have 4 pair of white bottoms, in fact. However, quarantined with a 1 and 5 year old requires a bit more than good intentions to keep them from being stained. I think these are going back. The fabric just isn't my jam...the color is more greenish in person and the fabric is thick and stiff, very sturdy, but not thing.

I think the fit seems okay. I would not wear red with them. You might be mistaken for a Target employee.

FWIW, thick and stiff fabric is more in my wheel house; it’s too masculine for you. Same color but in a more feminine fabric and cut might feel more psychologically comfortable to you. And actually, even I have problems with khaki and will buy cream as a light non-white.

Probably keep, I like them, although I might experiment with the cuffing. Maybe a deep hem would be better?

I'm off denim and just bought two pairs of pants, one khaki, one light olive and I've been having trouble too, feeling like the finished effect is too bland. Maybe any color top but one with more detail?

I like them, but the utility/worker look is part of the appeal for me. All the better to juxtapose with a frilly top. And does your daughter really have amazing copper hair as it appears in the picture?

I think they work ok with brights, especially this lighter khaki, but I tend to skew earthy tones with khaki, so I wear a lot with olive, coral. Though, I also really like white and denim blue combined with it. You have to decide whether you like really crisp white + brights or like the softer beige- tan effect.

I think they look fab but I struggle with this color too. I used to wear it a lot early in my career--it was kind of my uniform only they were Dockers for women. These look much more stylish and I can see them working for you because you will be able to style them creatively.

I’m not wild about them but I can’t ever get excited about tan anything. For a lighter neutral, I tend to go more with stone or olive or sage type colors, which I think help mitigate the State Farm/Target worker vibe.

DonnaF, I think you really nailed it...And other mentioning going with a different color; I've done just that. I'll be returning these and I've ordered these Boden linen ones in "Classic" Khaki which is like a burnt olive in my book.

JAileen and Shevia, yes, the little one has copper curls. It did/does still surprise me to look at her, and makes me chuckle. It may darken as she gets older, and her blue eyes may turn more green, but for the time being she is my little outlier.

Neither my hubby or myself have red hair (my mother in law and aunt in law were both red haired), and my son has dark hair and eyes like his daddy. I figured this baby would be dark too (dominate genes and all), but she is fair skinned, blue-eyed, copper curled. I had made her a magenta baby sweater before she was born that I only put on her once because it was the perfectly worse color in the world for her!
