Keep or return: striped cowlneck

So I ordered this on sale in my search for some casual tops... I am not sure if it looks okay though, or too much like a weird unflattering poncho. Please be honest!

ETA: The tags are not off yet. It seems like a good layering piece, but I'm not sure if it makes me look like a square.

I think it's a fun top as long as you know that it's a "surrender the waistline" (and a lot of form) type of top. I'd love to see it with your arms up so we can see the sleeve type. If you're still unsure, try styling it up a few ways (at least 3) and see what you can come up with. You can share those too if you like

Love the pattern. Would love to see it with a pencil skirt or walking shorts (wrong season, I know, LOL). I think with jeans it is veering into poncho territory, although not weird or unflattering.

I like it! But that might have a lot to do with your bare forearms. Don't know how much of the nice effect you'll lose when you layer underneath it.

Very true, Angie - here is a different look per Evie's suggestion. Not that I would ever go out with bare legs in winter, but school was cancelled due to an "ice day" and I'm not up to getting dressed for real just to watch movies with my 6 year old.

Also, imagine with boots, none of which can come into the house beyond the foyer...

Yes! I love the top, Una. It's a fun voluminous piece as long as we can see some of that pretty skin.

I like this top, as long as you see the arms. The jeans and skirt both work as long as the bottom half is sleek you are good to go. No square effect here, the hem has a slight u shape to it.
