Keep or Return: NAS Bernardo Quilted Leather Jacket

Well, here's another NAS purchase (with a non-NAS purchase top). How does it fit? It;s so loose on the model and so tight on me. Maybe I should size up? Do you like it? Should I keep it? DH liked it, and I'm pretty sure I do.

If it were slightly more cognac and less brown it would match my cognac boots, but it doesn't. Would it need to match my boots? Sigh, lots of questions. Thanks for any input. Keep (Yay) or Return (Nay).

Can you zip this all the way if you want to?

I like the jacket, like the colour, and I'm against matching this season. I like the fitted fit... but can you zip it all the way up comfortably? If you can, I'd keep it. If not, return. Although I admit I have a marc jacobs jacket that does not close all the way, but which I love and bought anyway.

The top is great too IMO.

I like it from the front, but am a bit worried about the bunching in the back in photo #4. Is that because it's not zipped up all the way? It looks much better in photo #9, so maybe it's zipped up there. Would you wear it unzipped or zipped? I think it looks better zipped from the side and back views (it looks good both ways from the front), so it's more a matter of how you would wear it.

Also, do you love it? Would you wear it right away if the weather was suitable for it? If not, perhaps you should hold out for something better. It's a beautiful jacket, but what matters most is if you truly love it. Just because the price was right doesn't make it right for you. I've made far too many mistakes in buying things that were on sale. Now I try to make sure I am itching to wear something. Otherwise, it goes back.

Wow, it looks amazing on you - Good question on whether or not you will want to zip it, though. If you know you don't care about zipping, then that's a moot point.

RE: matching the boots, I actually think it's better that they don't match perfectly. They will still bookend fine and the slight difference will look more effortless IMO. I think Angie also did a post about repeating a color using slightly different tones, though of course I cannot find it ATM.

I love the jacket with the top. I think it is a fabulous look. As far as if you should try one size up, I'll leave that for others...I often struggle with this myself with leather jackets.

I'll tell you my thinking about the zip issue. The model in the photo has the jacket
partly unzipped over the chest but she's probably lean and straight and it looks
boxy on her or "big." You look gorgeous in this jacket and it's much more
appealing on you. But you have a very curvy figure to show off and if it's obvious
that you couldn't possibly comfortably zip it over your chest - and I don't know
from the photos whether it is - then people are going to be continually drawn to
looking at where you're popping out. Would the next size up be just as
flattering on you, who knows.

if you cannot zip it up all the way (and still be able to move in it) don't get it. it's simply not practical having a jacket that you cannot close all the way.

I just tried it on again, and I can easily zip it up all the way. I probably *wouldn't* because it looks like I stashed two melons in my jacket, but I can do it. Also, I wouldn't be able to wear this for a looooong time. Maybe October, definitely November.

And if I'm not mistaken, melon stashing is a 3rd degree misdemeanor in most states :)!

I think it is a beautiful jacket - but size up if you plan to layer over bulkier items I think. And I definitely don't think it needs to match your boots exactly - I would prefer it didn't!

Kappy, you really did score some gorgeous pieces from NAS. This jacket has gorgeous detailing and is a rich, beautiful color! I think if you are doing to wear it as a lightweight piece--perhaps as an all day topper--keep as is; however, if you plan to wear with thicker gauge knits or other layers, then I would size up.

I am determined to find the "PERFECT" leather jacket this season. I bought a less than perfect black leather moto and a few pleather jackets last season, but I don't want to settle this season. I did try a few other jackets at NAS but none of them worked:

You look better in this jacket than the model does. Do not worry about the zipping or bunching.

And mismatched boots get my vote.

I much prefer the fitted look of the jacket on you compared with the baggy look the model is sporting. Keep!

FAB jacket and fit! It looks like it fits perfectly to me. Does it give you enough layering room (if that's something you're interested in)? I MUCH prefer the way this fits you over the baggy look on the model. Another vote for not perfectly matching your cognac boots This jacket would look great with black boots, too!

I love this jacket. I tried it on and it fit me really weird in the shoulders... it fit my body but felt uncomfortably tight to move my arms (hard to describe). Keep and enjoy it!

I am echoing Angie and others, but my first thought was this jacket looks better on you that on the model. I think it's a keeper. It seems to fil well and is a lovely shape for you.
