Keep or Return: Military Jacket

Although loving the color on me, I am not used to my body in this "strong" look. I think it makes my upper looks more bulky... could be the fabric. It is a heavy twill material, so it doesn't quite drape well.
#1 buttons 2 in the middle, seems bulky, even though it does cinches in the waist (I should have moved my arms)
#2 worn open.. i think this is the best look
#3 buttons bottom 3, doesn't lay flat

so what do the experts say, yay or nay?

I think it looks fantastic open. It doesn't do anything for me (or you!) closed, but is that a requirement? I have jackets I never wear closed.

I have a jacket in olive and love it. Strangely the color goes with almost everything. I guess it's being olive makes it a neutral.

I mostly wear it unbuttoned so I can get that nice vertical color blocking which I need as I'm bigger on top. Can you put the collar back on both side so you can get a nice V at the neckline? I think you will really get a lot of wear out of this jacket.

I also like the jacket open. From your description, it sounds like you are not quite in love with this jacket and not feeling very fab in it. I'm no expert, so maybe I shouldn't be voting, but still having said that, I would vote nay.

Darn, I hate saying this but although I love the color and the idea of this jacket, it does look a bit too bulky on you. I'm a fan of oversized jackets and with the right style and body type, they can be really fun. But I think there's too much material in the front, and that combined with the thick feel of the design on you, I'm thinking it's not your perfect look. Try these looks instead (just the idea of them, not necessarily these pieces or prices):

Looks great open! It doesn't have much appeal closed though, I'd definitely style it open - maybe with a dark wash pair of jeans or dark brown pants?

I like it best open too! The olive color I find is very wardrobe friendly
