Keep or return, LBD

I have a sheath LBD, but I'm not super comfortable in tight sheaths, so I don't wear it as much as I'd like. So I decided to try this jersey LBD from Esprit that's more A-line. I really like it, but I wanted to make sure that YLFers did too. And how does it work for layering (pic 2)--this is the real reason I want a LBD, so I can try all sorts of cute layered looks in the fall and winter.

Sorry about the bad expressions and messy hair.

Love this dress on you! I think it would be a fabulous addition to a wardrobe.

I like it better not layered but I think it is the sleeves in the layer that bother me just a bit. I think I would prefer it with a thin long sleeve (or elbow length) with spandex where the sleeves are tighter to your arms. You have a beautiful figure and I think that way it would have more impact and the focus would be you and not the dress/blouse.

Where do you plan to wear it? I love the fit on you, and think it looks really nice on its own, but I don't necessarily see it as a work dress with layers underneath, unless they are lightweight layers (the woven button down doesn't look quite right, IMHO). And it seems too low-cut to wear without an underlayer for work...Just my two cents :).

The dress looks killer on it's own. Wow!! If you are after the layered look, may I suggest a more basic sheath dress?

As a dress hoarder I say keep. You can never have to many cute dresses. Even it it's not quit layer-able under, you can add a bolero? Not quite work dress, more date night one IMHO.

You can never have too many black dresses ... Well at least that's the message coming from my wardrobe lol! It's a lovely dress on you. I do think for layering a more tailored fabric tends to work better, particularly if you are wanting to wear a nice crisp cotton shirt underneath. This dress would work best with something like a long sleeve very fine knit T. And of course on it's own it looks fantastic. I'd keep it

Hmm...yeah, I wasn't sure about the layered look, but that's actually what I was after.

Angie, I have a sheath, and I have worn it with this blouse once (and I'm fairly sure it looks good with that blouse), but the sheath isn't that easy for me to walk in so I rarely wear it.

I really like the fit of the dress, but now that it seems I can't layer with it I wish I had gotten it in a different color--but now they're all sold out! But it's a very comfy dress, and very easy to take with me somewhere.
