It's so lightweight and breezy, and I love the lace- but I'm just not sure.

It's a droped cinch waist, so try to be open minded

I was thinking that high and tight might be cute with a skirt, since it's a little short for pants. Opinions?

High and tight looks best to me, but to be honest I'm just not loving this top. I think it's the lace- I can be really picky about lace type and design (maybe from years of working in bridal?) and this stuff isn't speaking to me. If it speaks to you though, that's all that matters!

Khris, even worn high it reveals more than you probably intend to. Would you layer a cami under it? It just doesn't look like your style, but if you love it, you'll get it to work.

I agree with Ele... to my eye the lace is too "lingerie," but don't let that hold you back. Can you try it out with more outfits?

I think Joy may also mean that the top is rather sheer. If this is a hot-weather top, a cami may be too much since you live in some seriously hot weather!

I'll be honest - it's not my favorite top that I've seen you in. The lace does seem very "lingerie" and it's pretty sheer in that weird in-between way (to sheer to wear on it's own but not quite sheer enough for that intentionally sheer look, ya know?).

It's two layers of very lightweight material. You can see the dark color of my bermudas when it hangs loose, but you can't see the outline of my bra through it. When it's high and tight, I don't think you can see through at all. I'm not intending on layering this- I need things that can be worn without layering in the summer because it's just too hot here. I liked the cutaway shoulder that this had, and also the loose fit, which is much cooler than something tight. It's not styled in these pictures, I was just trying it on. Some of the lace is a little cheezy, but some of it is nicer. I like the way that it sort of looks like an old fashioned undergarment.

I actually *can* see the outline of your bra, even in the high and tight and it's quite clear in the other two.

I understand the look you're going for and I totally understand the quest to find things to wear in sweltering weather ... I'm currently combing the stores for hot weather wear, too. However, I gotta agree with the other ladies in that I think you can do better, even if it means looking more or spending a bit more to get the whole "old-fashioned undergarment" look down.

I really like this top from TopShop, although it's only available in a size 12 at the moment and costs $50.

The fabric is more opaque and it just has a touch more polish (but not too much).

I love lace but have to agree it is pretty sheer, even high and tight. (I had that problem recently with a double-layered item, too.) It's not that I *dislike* it, it is just that it doesn't match up to what you normally wear.

I like high and tight the best, but I've seen you in nicer tops in other posts and vote return for this one. It looks like a good top for layering but not as a stand alone.

I like it tied tight, and I think with the right bra you can make it work. Sure, it doesn't look like what you normally wear, but do we always have to wear what we normally wear? It's a very hot weather, summery looking top, exactly what you are going for. I wouldn't consider wearing it for anything other than casual outings, so I don't have a problem with it worn in that way.

I think the vintage-y lace blouse has potential if you add an edge. Harem pants, gladiators and fedora? Perfect for 95 degree days.

In the minority here, but I love it Khris - I guess my feelings are that when its super hot in the midst of summer, I really don't have a problem if my bra is ever-so-slightly visible - comfort sometimes MUST prevail! But I do prefer it tight and up high.

And I like they lacey femininity of it without it being too heavy.

I like it...but I am a sucker for sheer lacy tops!!!! Can you pull the tie out altogether rather than deal with the tie and use a low belt or none at all? Just thinking options.
