These feel good on, but the photos look whiskery. Any thoughts? And are they too long?

I don't think that they are too long. How do they feel in terms of tightness? Does it feel like the fabric will give a little more after the first few wears? What do you plan to wear the skinnies with?

If it were me and the skinnies were comfortable as is, but would not stretch out any more, I would probably reserve them for under boots and with tunics only since they are pretty form fitting, and I personally prefer a bit of a looser fit for skinnies that I'm going to wear with shorter tops & non-boot shoes. But then again, that *is* just me, and I'm not saying that they look bad on you by any means.
I'd suggest wearing them around the house for a day to see if the fabric stretches out a little more, and then weigh in on how you feel.

I'm not sure but just wanted to chime in that I'm late on this trend, too. Just bought my first pair yesterday! We aren't too late, are we?? I have a hard time discerning when these look good or not because my eye has a hard time with them in general. Do they feel good and not squeezing anywhere?

They are definitely not too long, if anything I like mine with even more scrunch on the end.

On the tightness, I agree with Kari. If they don't stretch at all I would reserve them for tunics/longer tops, but if they do than shorter tops are good too.

Very helpful! I think I assumed that skinnies were all pretty form fitting...

I was certainly planning on wearing them with tunics and longer tops - hadn't even thought about shorter tops. Hmm There's a whole world out there of skinny wearing that I'm new to - Mo, glad it's not just me late to the party!

I think I'm going to keep them whatever - they are the only ones that I've found that work at all. I'm happy for them to be limited in use to tunics and longer tops.

I like them! I think with skinnies it's a LOT about the eye adjustment. At the beginning, (a year ago or so), they looked plain weird to me - me as in a die-hard bootcut/flare pants fan, they as far from flare as you can get LOL! But I gave them a try and first I only wore them with boots and longer sweaters/cardis. Now I like the look with ballet flats or gladiator sandals and shorter tops (like mid-hip length).. It definitely grows on you!

They do look great in my opinion. Granted, I tend to prefer a tighter fit in skinnies.

Are those the GAP Jean Leggins? If so, I own the same pair. They do not stretch much. I have worn mine for two full days already and they feel and look pretty much the same.

I feel like the stretch police as of lately...jejejeje...

I think they look pretty good. They fit you so smoothly on the leg. I have the same problem with whiskering. All. The. Time. For skinnies like these, I would reserve them for tunics or short dresses or long BR cardis, and then wouldn't worry about the slight whiskering since it would be covered. I have some Gap leans that are pretty snug and I plan to wear them just with long tops like I mentioned and tall boots.

As others have said, wear them around the house for a few hours (or a day if you can manage that) to see if they stretch out and if so, how much. Zap, high five on the stretch police work! I just wore my Gap leans earlier this week and was so happy to see they didn't stretch out one whit.

These are great to wear with tunics and longer tops, Polly! They'll look great with boots, booties and pumps (because they scrunch a bit).

Sounds great, Polly - if you're primarily planning to wear them with tunics anyway, I'd recommend keeping them around, because they look like they should be a nice, smooth layer under a longer tunic-type top.

Thanks everyone. They're from Marks and Spencer (UK brand) and I think that they probably won't stretch much, but I will try them.

A whole new world of skinnies dressing is opening up in front of me...

Hi! late to the party? how about never arrived? lol.

I'm glad to hear you're keeping them. I think they look fine and since the butt and thigh area will have a bit more coverage while you're eye adjust i think any reservations you have will go with time.

I think they look great. Enjoy! Once you get used to wearing the long top/tucked jeans look you'll be hooked, trust me!

Oh - good for you for trying the skinnies! I think they look great on you - and if you're comfortable with the way they feel, then I'd keep them and wear them with bigger/longer tops.

lady - I'm trying leggings for the first time too (they're in my closet with the tags one waiting for me to build up courage...) so we'll have to hold each other's hands on that one!

Angie - you give a girl too much homework! Struggling to find dolman sleeves in the uk at the moment (may be looking in the wrong places - and they may call it something different sometimes here), but I have had a look and will keep trying.

Give me a few days to build up some courage and I'll post a skinnies outfit!
