Keep or return DVF ruffle dress EDIT more pics

It fits, but I'm wondering if it makes me look like a big floufy block.
Sorry for the dark photo, construction has begun in earnst.

Because some had requested it more styled.
#5 moto vest.
#6 tuxedo blazer
#7 furry vest (total man repeller here)
#8 sharp shouldered blazer
#9 cropped blazer
#10 boyfriend blazer.

OK I'm not allowed to buy another black blazer.

I admit I was on Team "Get It Now" when you first posted it, but it definitely looks poofier (is that word?!?!) in real life than it did online. Not worth taking up space in your wonderful closet, especially if you don't feel absolutely fab in it.

Wow, you found it in your size! Something looks off to me, though. Would you wear with a jacket, by any chance? That might help decrease some poof around the middle. The poofiness wouldn't be that bad if it were mini length, but I don't think you can shorten without losing the cool color on the bottom.

It seems like a lot going on in every direction in these photos... but I'm no expert. I would say go with your gut. Because really who needs a "problem" dress to which one must cater in every way just to wear? I always end up resenting those sorts of wardrobe items... L

I voted nay. Not crazy about it and I think there may be just too much ruffliness going on there. I also don't love the black straps - it would be better strapless, I think (although goodness knows how it would stay up then!).

You might be able to offset the poofiness with something strong-shouldered though...

I voted nay on the dress in the first place because I don't see how the construction of the front relates to the back BUT seeing this on you I actually like it. I am also curious how it would look with a sharp blazer. I think the ruffles are interesting and not floufy.

I don't think it works for you. Ruffle dresses are quite difficult to sport, but I'm sure you can change it for something that looks a lot better on you!

Hmm. I don't think so. If you could chop off the bottom and just wear it as a ruffled top with great jeans it might be a cute look. As is, I think it's just too much ruffle-age. You would probably get a lot of comments like: "Wow, what an interesting dress." And we all know what that means!

Love the front view but I'm not sure from the side. Is this how it would be styled? I think I would love it layered, perhaps with a black leather belt or maybe your leather harness. I think it still needs a little of Anna's trademark toughness so I will reserve my judgement for now.

This is just quirky enough to make me like it...A dress with this much going on must be styled perfectly...see what other ways might work...some ladies suggested a blazer...try that first:)

Hmm, I liked the idea of it, but unfortunately it looks a little like an underwater sea creature has attacked you. Spit out our Anna!

I really wanted to love this but I can't imagine it looking good or even "unflattering but couture" on anyone. It's just kind of strange... I love that you are such a risk-taker though, and am trying to follow your lead more.

It is a very big statement, but I think it's fascinating and it looks way cool with your black toppers (jackets, vests) and black heels. The cascading ruffles juxtaposed with the severity and structure of the jackets is just really awesome. Be prepared for people to want to touch it if you wear it out :).

I can't like this one. It's definitely an interesting dress but do you really want people coming up to you saying "what an interesting dress" whenever you wear it? Everything I've seen you in up until now has been just YOU... like, if I saw you on the street I'd just think, wow, that's a fabulous woman... if I saw you in this I'd think... well that's an interesting dress. I think you can do better (although, I will say it looks better with the vests and jackets giving it a little more structure).

It's just an unflattering dress. Not only do you lose your waist but it actually makes you look bigger all over.

Hi Anna,
I too fell in love with tiered chiffon ruffles and bought a top very much like your frock.
The main problem I found was the way the all-over ruffles completely camouflaged my curves, what little I have. My small bust and my waistline totally disappeared under the fluffage, so unfortunately this adorable garment made me feel childlike. I ended up cutting it up into a long ruffled scarf.
Ruffles are awesome --but for most people they seem to work best as a strategically placed trim or accent. Ruffles in the right place can work magic with your proportions. Hold out for a garment with those figure -enhancing placements -- your dream ruffle frock is still out there, somewhere.
