Keep or return, Converse shoes

So I find myself sadly lacking in casual shoes so I decided to order a few pair to try and I need help decided which to keep! My budget only allows for one pair at the moment, so I need them to be as versatile as possible. I'm considering these two:

The slip on are easier and faster to get on etc, as a MOTG that's good for me. I don't have to worry about the laces getting dirty or coming undone or anything. They are decently more comfortable but probably not enough to choose them because of that. The color is more faded looking, and would go better with brown or gray (but I don't have much black or gray in my wardrobe at all). The second pair is a more rich brown color that appeals to me more and a fair a mount more of my clothing is in that color family. It's a more traditional, less sloppy look and I like that they are slim. Any thoughts, opinions? Thanks ladies!

I have a pair of each style and I prefer the ones with laces. Nice color!

Thanks! They do look better, I'm just trying to decide how big of a factor the comfort difference is for me.

You could get both for just a tiny bit more than the "real" Cons in your post. Just sayin'.

I absolutely hate the laces on my Cons - they are about a foot too long. They look so goofy! I am going to replace them, but wish I had gone with slip-ons for convenience (from one MOTG to another).

MPJ, Angie gave me a great hint for too-long laces -- just do a double knot and it takes care of the extra length! (And by "double knot," I mean tie the bow making the loops longer than usual, then tie the loops together again.) It's worked like a charm for me!

MaryK - I do double knot them (have to!) but it just makes for such a lumpy knot...and also, takes even longer to put on and take off. I'm definitely looking for shorter laces.

I don't know what to do! lol I ordered a size larger of the kind with laces to see if they'll be more comfortable. If they aren't I'll probably have to keep the slip-on pair since it's more comfortable and easier. Ah, decisions, decisions.
