Keep or return: cargo skinnies and a couple of others

So, I'm on Team Dressy, but I actually have a pretty casual (and very busy) life right now, so I am trying to get better at casualwear. Under the influence of the fabulousity on the forum, I bought these skinny cargos from Urban Outfitters. I've been unsure about them--I feel like they might not be the most flattering thing through the thighs. Since we're totally snowed under in Chicago, I finally got a half-hour to throw on some outfits and ask for feedback. Other things that I'm deliberating about are the faux fur coat and the military peep-toe booties (Guess Owenson). Maybe I'll try to get up posts for those two items too later today.

After I took these pictures, I put on some color with the skinnies--I liked a fuschia top underneath the bomber jacket, especially--but did not take more pictures.

I'm loving skinny cargos, and I think they look great on you. My favorite look is 3, with 2 as a close second. I think the sweater in 1/5 is a tad too short, and not as flattering as the other looks.

I purchased two pair, one army green and the other gray, and I'm lovoing them.

I think the cargos look great! The pockets are fine on the thighs since there is no contrast stitching; they blend right in, and they look amazing with all the outfits you posted. The color scheme works for you.

They look really nice on you Stephanie but I think my fav's are the ones without the short boots. They seem to cut your leg off a little bit whereas the other shoes keep your leg line a bit longer. You can pull off those colors really well but would also love to see the fuschia top it sounds devine!

Fab cargos--I think they look perfect on you. Outfit #3 is my fave--you look so lovely! I prefer the pants with the heels for some reason--I didn't care for the flaps on the booties in picture 2. I can't really see the shoes in picture 1. I'm ambivalent about the fur jacket. The fur comes across a bit crazy looking--not sure if it's just the photo. Howabout a picture of that in daylight, if you have time? LOL about the thighs--trust me--you have nothing to worry about. : )

This is the first pair of cargo skinnies that I have seen that I actually like ! I haven't even liked them in the catalogs or on the web. I especially like them "dressed" up !!!! I saw a pair of microcheck skinny cargos that looked wonderful..but I wasn't sure about the "skinny" , I am going to check it out now.

I *love* the shoes you paired with the pants too -- those are so perfect! They give all the outfits a hip girl in the city vibe!

I think these are very cute on you! They could be a pinch longer, but I think they look swell the way you've styled them. How do they look from behind? I can't see the boots well enough in the first few pics to offer any feedback on those; the faux fur jacket looks kind of fun.

Keep! They look wonderful on you! I also like them best with heels. On one of the morning shows today a model had one very similar cargos with a sheer blouse for spring over a cami and an open blazer over that. Her shoes were cute wedge sandals. Just another idea for warmer weather.

I tried the skinny cargos and could not rock this look. Good thing I paid under $20 for them at Ross because I gave them away after one month. You on the other hand look great in them. You look adorable in all photos!

I feel the shaggy jacket would be better with another item of clothing that is less attention-getting than skinny cargos, like neutral skinny black jeans or trousers. With something as dramatic as a jacket like that, it needs to be the center of attention. In this case, your skinny cargos are jealous of the fab jacket, and trying to pull some of the attention away. ; )
