Keep or Return - black sandal booties

I just got these Trouve shoes from Nordies (Nordy 40 - a week were employees enjoy an extra discount on Nordstrom branded merchandise).

I do not currently own any black sandals. I was inspired by shopbop's ultimate closet lookbook (posted on the forum last week) and since the only components I didn't have options for were the cream dress and black sandals, I decided to go for these ones. I saw them in brown in an email add (Annagybe will remember) and really liked them.

So, I think they're cute, and they don't pinch or rub, but they are a tad higher than what I could comfortably wear all day. I will have to bring flats with me when I wear them all day, in case my feet get tired. The issue is I already have a lot of summer footwear that I have to switch out of! So I'll probably end up getting black flat sandals (ummm...birks, honestly) later.

Are they cute enough to put up with this annoyance? What do you think?

ABSOLUTELY LOVE! I have pair of high heeled gladiators from LD Tuttle that have significant ankle wraps that I love. They're very similar to yours.

I think they're fabulous... and with the nice discount right now, why not? If you're okay with their comfort level, then keep!

What else did you get this week? I bought some Halogen and Classiques flats, and will probably stock up on Caslon camisoles tomorrow. Also maybe the peacock scarf. Can't decide!

Love them. I have some somewhat similar ones (but with a heel-heel rather than a wedge) from Dolce Vita and when I put them on, I feel instantly powerful. Also, because they cover so much of my foot, I found myself wearing them earlier and later than I normally wear 'sandals.' (I live in Chicago, so I can only wear true sandals late May-early Sept, but the sandal booties I wear more like April-October, dependent, of course, on weather.) All of which is a long-winded way of saying, I think you'll wear them a lot. Keep!

Marianna, I mostly bought cami's...4 BP. camis, 1 white ribbed Caslon tank, these shoes, a pretty soft Trouve sweater. Oh, and some face cloths. I love the Nordstrom brand towels!

The BP cami's are more fitted than the caslon, and much, much cheaper. But the straps don't adjust...

Keep a tab on the Summer sandals though - we live in Seattle. You don't need many pairs unless you frequently travel to warm weather places. Last year I wore my sandals precisely two times and wore Summer boots all Summer long. But then, I really feel the cold and like socks.

Jonesy they are 3 and 1/4 inches. Not super high, but I walk a lot.

Angie, last summer was pretty cool...these have quite a lot of coverage for sandals...I think I'd be able to wear them on dry days in the 60s and up.

Thanks for the info on the heel height. They are just a pinch too high for me to wear to work. Re. you getting lots of use out of them, despite cool summers: are you going to wear these with tights and socks (not at the same time ;)? I'll bet that would look cute and help you to wear them even if it's a bit chilly out.

Put gel insoles made for high heels in them and that will help with the comfort. I put insoles in the everything I possibly can. That's why I usually buy 1/2 size larger. I work on my feet for 7-8 hours at a time, in the summer even longer.

CocoLion, I was thinking the same thing. I have a pair that footpedals gave new life to last summer, so I'm thinking they'll work here, too. They aren't super tight, so I'm sure there's room (I run a tiny bit small for size 7, but not enough to size down).

Jonesy, I am definitely open to tights (when it's not raining or about to start raining, which isn't very often).

I tried them in brown today and even sized down a 1/2 size, you couldn't see my toes so I passed.

Yes, they do tend to swallow the toe a bit. I actually prefer it 'cause I know it won't cut into the skin on my toes!
