Keep or return: beige/camel boyfriend cardigan

I bought this from Land's End Canvas recently thinking I could wear it over dresses as well as with skinnies - I was inspired by all the ways Jennifer from Sally Jane Vintage wears hers ( a couple of examples below). But someone in the winterization thread mentioned they thought the color was too light for me and now I;m not sure. I haven't taken the tags off yet so I could return it if I had to. What do you think?

I don't think the color is too light on you, mainly because your hair is dark. In #2, she creates more of a high contrast (which would suit you nicely) and in #3 a lower contrast, but with the darker bottoms your hair would bookend it nicely. I think the main thing to keep in mind is to whether you can create the right amount of contrast in outfits that incorporate this cardigan.

Tricia, I am not crazy about this colour on you - with or without the contrast

Sally Jane Vintage has beige running through her hair which is one of the reasons I feel she pulls it off.

I agree, I think if they had one shade darker/richer it would work nicely, but this color is sort of washed out on you.

This is the first thng I've seen on you that doesn't do you justice. It's the color - SO hard to wear. I would love to pull it off, but only can wear pants or skirts in this color range...

I agree with the others--there are soo many other colors that I think would top this one, even a darker, richer camel.

Would this work as a replacement, do you think? It's out of stock right now but these things usually come back in. Or should I just avoid this general color range on top?

I like the trimmed cardigan better, the color looks darker and has mroe texture than the solid beige one above.
