I made a quick trip to Marshall's and Target today. At both places, there were things I almost got because they were cheap and "good enough" but didn't because I realized I would just be setting myself up for wardrobe failure later. Progress!

Anyway, what about the two items I did bring home?

#1 French Connection knit dress. Okay for work (teacher)? Anything unflattering I'm failing to notice?

#2 I haven't owned anything red in a decade, so I'm not used to the color on me. Does it look okay? With these trousers? How about the faux pleating here?

Thank you in advance for all advice. I need a minimal wardrobe, so if these are not 10s, they have to go right back.

Your HAIR!!! I am sorry, I can't help myself...this is another transformation like mine earlier this fall. I know you were already wearing it short. But you just look so spectacular with this cut! It showcases your lovely figure (how the heck is that possible?) and looks so elegant and fun at the same time. Perfect for you.

Those two items both look wonderful. The red top makes you glow, as Sylvia said, and the neckline works with your new do (oh oh, there I go again...). I also love the dress on you. Will you wear it with leggings as shown? It is probably too short to wear without, yes?

like the dress, very much. Great gams to go with are a plus! But yes, I also think tights are needed for work appropriate. But the shoes! oh that could be so cute with booties

Yes, the dress is far too short to wear without leggings. I may actually have to wear it over skinnies until I find some tights that are a bit less sheer.

These both look great on you. The dress is really flattering, and the red is super with your dark hair. I agree that the dress is too short for teaching unless you wear tights or skinnies under it (but you already knew that!).

Love the sweater and the red colour on you. The dress is cute, but it's a very young look. Not sure it will be the greatest choice for teaching.

Well, it looks like I will be keeping both! I will play around with the dress and see if I can find some looks appropriate for high school Latin teaching.
