Keep or return - does this fit?

I bought this blazer tonight - what do you think of the fit? It is NOT shiny like in the photos - that's my flash hitting the fabric. Here is a link to see what the jacket really looks like:

It closes easily, bust and waist/hips fit great, my main concern is the shoulders - they feel fine, but do they look OK?

In the photos, I just left on the top I wore while shopping and put on a skirt and booties, should I wear a different top under it, and what are your suggestions? Does it look ok with the skirt and booties? Or better with pants or a pencil skirt?

it looks like it fits, but is a bit boxier on you than on the mannequin. i want to like it, but the high stance doesn't seem modern and the boxy-ness doesn't seem like the oversized jacket looks in the stores.

IMHO, the jacket is too large in the shoulder blades. Would you be wearing a bulkier top underneath? It is also a bit boxy on you. Maybe taking it in a bit down the middle of the back would solve both problems.

I agree with be about the stance. I'd much prefer a single or double button with a lower stance.

I think it's a bit big in the shoulders, especially in the back. But! I get this problem too, as I also have narrow shoulders and a narrow upper back, and sometimes (unless you want to get all your jackets custom-made or never wear jackets) you just have to put up with it when you have this figure variation. I think it looks OK and most people would never notice it, so it's up to you whether it's good enough or not.

I wonder if the "too big in the back" appearance is exacerbated by the flash. I would try to size down to see how that works.

I know the stance is not particularly modern, but it has a fun retro vibe to me, and I'm a sucker for that. If you wear it open with jeans it won't seem as ladylike or twee.

Thank you for your honest comments. I was actually thinking it was small in the shoulders! I'm going to try later today to style it differently (Suz's suggestion with jeans) and have DH take a pic with no flash. Looking at the pics I took last night, whether it fits or not, the flash makes the jacket look awful. Don't know if I'll keep this one - if I do, I'll have to run from the paparazzi, LOL!
