Keep or purge?

I usually have no problem purging but for some reason this skirt has been hard to let go of. This summer I seem to be at a loss on how to style it.I have had it forever and am now wondering if it is dated and I just don't see it because I've always loved the colour ( celery ). Give it to me straight ladies, it might be just the push I need to let it go

spoff- Is there some type of emotional connection to the skirt? Does it evoke a feeling from a certain time or place or event. Sometimes we tend to hold onto items because of that reason. I would say if you don't wear it give it to a thrift or someone who will find much joy in wearing the skirt.

I think it's beautiful, and I love the way it drapes. What about having it hemmed a little to give it a new lease on life?

Perhaps hem it and wear it with a cropped (hitting at the waist) cream top and matching booties, or try a black moto jacket and sneakers. Pair it with something unexpected. If after trying some different possibilities you still aren't happy with it, then it might be time to pass it on.

if you love it then keep it. try to wear it maybe with linen top, dark denim shirt or some kind lace/eyelet sweatshirt?

I think that perhaps it is a bit too long. I find that skirts that hit just below the knee can look frumpy (at least they do on me). The A-line silhouette may also be too wide coupled with the length. Hemming it might be a good idea.

I don't think it's too long, but I do think you need to tuck your top with this. Maybe try a tucked top and cropped topper (like a cropped denim jacket) and see if that cleans up the proportions for you.

Thanks for all the advice ladies. It's been really helpful. The skirt can't be hemmed as it has a sequined detail on the bottom that makes that impossible . I have it pulled quite low on the hips and I I doubt pulling it up would make that much diffrence ,but I will try to see what that does.I love all the styling ideas and will give them a whirl as well. If after that I am still unsure I will donate it.

It is a pretty skirt, but I do think it's dated. If the styling suggestions don't work definitely pass it on,

I agree with Jenava -- the skirt is not too long, but the long untucked top is throwing off the proportions a bit. I bet it would look great with a chambray shirt or a more cropped loose drapey tee.
