Hi Fabbers,

Hope you are all having a lovely weekend.

Spring has arrived right on time and we are enjoying some beautiful sunny weather. In fact as I type, I am sitting in the backyard soaking in some Vitamin D:)

I wonder if you can offer some advice? I love this jacket. But I am unsure of the length. I think this hits me at the most unflattering point? I have popped it on over what I am wearing today so no styling to speak off. Is this length, even the cut , completely wrong for me? Personally I am sitting somewhere in the middle regarding the jacket. I love certain elements... but!
And I am unsure if lower contrast bottoms would make an difference?

Please feel free to be honest. I am not prepared to tolerate "ok" pieces in my wardrobe:) The jacket is a good label and is excellent quality so I can potentially sell it on Ebay.

Deborah, this jacket looks so perfect I simply can't believe it's unstyled. I love the gray booties with this outfit they work so well with the jacket.

As far as the fit, the sleeves particularly seem a little short and wide. I would not have noticed particularly until I saw that you wanted advice on the jacket. So may be scrunching or cuffing the sleeves will fix that. I disagree that the hem of the jacket hits you at an odd place. To my eye (and its based on the outfit you're wearing) the jacket's proportion would be off if it were shorter. Perhaps I'd feel differently you posted different looks.

If you still love the jacket and it makes you happy keep it. If you could take it or leave it -- you have to get rid of it.

Love the pattern not as sure of the shape - but photos don't show drape I know. What is the fabric Deborah? I like the idea of lower contrast. Would it work with slouchier bottoms? I'd like to see you style it a few ways before making a decision

The jacket fits fab - but it's also a conventional cut. I do think of you as avant garde.

The jacket looks interesting, as your clothes tend to to me, but would it be possible for you to take a photograph of it on you wearing something that doesn't visually cut you in half? Could it be that the white top and darkish jeans create too much contrast? Maybe try it styled with a dress or top and bottoms in a single colour?

Having said this, I am sure I would not have had any such question in my mind had you not asked!

I don't think the jacket is unflattering and would love to see it styled.

Hmmmm, it's a nice jacket, but I don't see it as "your" style. The pattern looks a little blah to me, and I think even more so due to the very classic shape of the jacket. I don't know, I just don't find it to be a 10 like pretty much every other piece you ever wear is. But it does look nice on you, and if you keep it I could see it being good for when you specifically want to dress less edgy. But I like the edgy Deborah!

I like the pattern on you, but combined with the cut, it comes off perhaps a little more conservative than I see you. Maybe it's the boxy cut and/or the style of collar, combined with the length. I'm wondering if it would take on a different personality over one of your black-on-black looks.

I totally understand your mixed feelings. I have pieces like this too, and they're usually more trouble than they are worth.

Hmmmm, difficult to say. Would like to see it styled with some black items. I understand that you have not styled it for the photos above, but we are so used to seeing you "put together" that this look seems discordinant (is that even a word?).

I can't really put my finger on it, sorry, but not feeling a lot of love for this jacket.

I love the pattern and can see why it appeals to you, Deborah. But I am unsure about the shape. As Caro said, it is difficult to see drape in the photos, so if that is there, it might read differently. And you might want to style with lower contrast to see the effect.

This is a beautiful jacket - but my immediate thought is that it doesn't seem 'you'. I am going to echo the others - can you style it for us?

I really do love the pattern, it has a Harlequin-like effect, which has always been a huge favorite of mine!

I vote sell on eBay, Debs. I don't find the shape a 10 in cut, colour or pattern for your style.

My personal take is that this is the wrong jacket for your outfit. Over the right pants and top, it would be really nice.

It looks like a great jacket but not a 10 on you. Have you tried it with your grey tee for less contrast?

I think I agree with Janet- if you struggle to style, if you have concerns, if you are not sure- sell on Ebay and enjoy the space it leaves.
(If you were a Newby here I would still say YLF! :0 )

Frankly I think the jacket is too much trouble as much I as like it. I am finding I just don't have the time or inclination to "make" things work... they just need to work.
