Keep or cull?

I know you all don't know my style at all, but what do you think of these items on their own merits? For reference, I am 30 years old, no kids, and work in a professional environment. All of these things are a few years old.

The shoes I don't really care for, but I guess I don't really have anything else like them, and maybe they're practical?

The bags I do really like, but I don't end up using them much, because they are small for me. I'm always carrying a ton of stuff around, including my lunch most days.

I also like the dress and the skirt a lot although I don't wear either very often. The reason I'm wondering whether I should get rid of them is because both are sheer. Is that a no no?

You're right, these questions are a little hard to answer without knowing your style, but here's a try. Take with a grain or handful of salt.
Shoes: They are only practical if you wear them. I would say the black pair are more worth hanging onto, just in case you need a shoe for a dressy evening event. Store them away where you can find them if you need them, and revisit the question later, if you've passed them over for some reason when such an event has come up.
If you're not wearing the pink ones and don't like them, my question would be, Why keep them?
If the bags are too small for your needs, I'd send them away, too, and find one that will serve your needs better. There are a lot of great handbags at all price points out there, and you should be able to find one that you like AND that is the right size for you. Or make one! (oops, that was the sewing fanatic in me coming out.)
If you like the dress and skirt, keep them, and get a slip that you can wear underneath both of them, so you can wear them with confidence! (Personally, I'm kind of old-fashioned about slips and don't like to wear a dress or skirt without one. In addition to avoiding see-through, slips help skirts drape more nicely on the body, I think.)

Thanks for the response, firecracker. It's very hard for me to hold onto things and sometimes I might be too quick to cull. Maybe I should do a fun what's my style post with some of my wardrobe items.

I do have a slip I wear with that dress. You can see it hanging in back of the dress. But is it weird to wear a slip in the summer? Kinda detracts from that easy breezy feeling.

Hello! And welcome to the forum.

I am going to comment with a very prejudiced eye towards what is trending or not. In my opinion only of course!

Pink flats: on trend
Bejeweled heels: the cone shape heel is fading in popularity. I am still hanging on to some of my cone heels though, because I like the shoes. I think these look handy for when you have a dressy event. I feel dressy and career styles change less than casual/smart casual looks.

Fabric bag: looks timeless to me, fun for summer
Blue bag: hmmm... to me it looks a little dated but I think I'm so obsessed with clutches, cross body bags, duffles and backpacks that I have no room to digest other bag styles right now.

Skirt: the ruffles look a little dated to me but you could still style this and it would be fine. If you wore it with a slouchy tee and open toe booties the skirt would be updated.
Dress: The empire waist is fading in popularity. However, the graphic nature of the print and the back racer style look on trend to me. Looks cute for a hot day.

Liz, I do wear slips in the summer, and I still can feel cool and comfortable with bare legs. You might try a half-slip with the dress and see what you think. I have one by Commando that has no waistband on it, so it works very nicely under dresses as well as skirts.

Hi Liz
My fave is the red and blue dress at the end. I think the graphic and floral print elements are trendy and I like the colours. I think the shoes are worth keeping, bags I am not too fussy about, especially if you find the size doesn't suit your needs. The skirt is very feminine and playful - and cute colour. I can't judge out of context though, so need to see it on!

Good advice: cull everything that looks tired and worn. Only keep what you think you'd actually wear (in my case set aside for 6 months and see if you do miss them, you'll know when you have an aha moment of "where was my ----" At least that is what worked for me.
