I had a ton of purchase euphoria when I ordered this, but now am not so sure. Thoughts?

Hmm, it's reading as a little grandpa's nightshirt to me, but I think that's because of the flip flops and no pants! Put on some pants, and then we'll talk.

Was I misreading the photo you had posted from the site? It looked there like the placket was running asymmetrically, non? This seems like a classic case of 'item not as described'!

That said, if it wasn't awfully expensive, I could certainly see you wearing that over leggings, skinnies or a long midi or maxi skirt even (belted in the last instance).

Angie - Good lord, then that's the most expensive bathing suit cover in the world. No way can I only use it for that!

They do SAY you can wear it like that, or with pants, or alone, but it isi shown alone.

Maybe I could get it tailored. My other option is to return it for store credit, aka a tshirt because everything on the site is $.

Dana, I agree - if you paid full price for this item. The photo on the model is SO sneaky. The way she is standing has added structure to the frock - which is a 100% inaccurate reflection of the shape of the dress. That makes me angry

Angie, I got it for half price. I have a good relationship with this designer - I was a loyal customer when it was parkvogel, then Vogel10, and now jpark. So I can return for credit and wait for a sale. Or make lemonade and see what my tailor can do.

Is it too big? In the pic, it looks like the buttons are supposed to wrap around the side, but I don't see that design element in your pics. Or maybe they wrapped the dress around the model to make it look better (as Angie said, sneaky!). Maybe you could get a tailor to wrap/sew it so that it looks more like the pic.

Suggestion if you bring it to the tailor, IK --- try adding a few pleats at the hem to turn it more tulip-shaped? You could add the pleats asymmetrically (say, left front edge and right back edge), gathering the hemline in on the diagonal. Might approximate the structure it *appeared* to have on the site.

This seemed like something you would design from the original photo, but it looks nothing like that here! What is up?! I would return - I would be very frustrated to buy something for one purpose only to relegate it to another out of remorse. See "Frye Julias" for example.

I saw the original post and didn't comment, but I was worried it might be a tricky piece. I held my tongue in hopes that I would be happily proved wrong, but it really doesn't seem to be doing anything for you that an oversized men's shirt wouldn't do. The picture does seem to be misleading, which is a big disappointment.

Return - not nearly fab enough for you. The pic of the model in the dress and the "real" thing are so completely different, it looks like a whole other item.

I'd leave the tags on, bring it to the tailor and see what could be done. If it's too much or you dont think it'd work, return and wait for something fab. I would let the mgr/owner know you are not pleased with the deceptive pic...

umm...won't it work? how about a woven belt, turquoise jewellery and leggings, or even shorts. i kinda like it, its seems like the perfect blank canvas to load on with accessories and statement pieces. it seems perfect for summer
