I do love seeing the Spiegel leather jacket on everyone!

Here is mine---obviously not styled but it is too hot to put on more clothes!

It's a size 8 and I"m wondering if I should have gotten a size 10 for more drapiness. It's fine open, but when I close it there are some puckers---is that because it is not large enough to drape? When I put my hands in my pockets the puckers go away...

It feels fine. On me this isn't running large; I'm generally a size 8 or a 10....I have a muscular chest and back, and I'm fairly tall (5 7") so maybe that makes a difference.

Anyway, do you think this is the right fit or should I try to exchange for a size 10?

I wouldn't size up, but I tend to prefer fitted silhouettes so I'll be interested to see what others say. It looks great on you!

I think it looks great! The size looks good to me. Mine puckers too when closed and there is plenty of room. I think it's a function of the style - I suspect that they intend it to be worn with the top all buttoned up (which I will NEVER do since it's so choking) and just the one snap in the middle is not enough to close it without puckering. I think this can be fixed by either adding a second snap or just moving the closure higher (so it sits over the bust). I am not sure whether I'm going to bother to do this though as I'll probably wear it open most of the time.

I love it, Isis! The fit is perfect. I think if you size up, it will lose some of it's sleekness. Keep! Just curious, will you be able to layer under it? Do you find that it is smaller in the arm hole or the sleeves?

Isis- I think the jacket looks good on you. That is similar to how my jacket is also (fits perfectly, but not if you snap it). I am wondering if that idiosyncrasy is what put it on sale. I wrote in another thread that I may add a snap closer to the center to eliminate the pull, but I really prefer this one open, so as the weather cools down, I'll see if it would be worthwhile or not.

We are the same height and I ordered the same size as you. Height may be impacting this jacket fit for some of us. I am finding that with mine, the puckering when snapped doesn't feel drapey or fluid, yet I don't think the fit cost benefit analysis is pushing me towards sizing up. I fear it will just get odder somehow.

It's a curious piece on me and at full retail I would not have kept it. For $34, I'll play around and see where it lands. Not sale googles here, but a low tuition learning opportunity.

I think it looks good. Not perfect, perhaps - - but at this price, definitely worth the fun! And I also wonder if it might "relax" a bit over time and with wear.

I suspect Eliza is right. Different heights and shoulder dimensions really seem to affect the fit on this item. I like how she puts it: "love tuition learning opportunity."

Kelly, I would not be able to layer much under it. I rarely wear sweaters so not a problem. I think the armholes are fine; the sleeves are closely fit, but that's part of the design I think. The ponte panels in the sleeves will stretch for bending arms or bigger arms. I'm really glad I didn't size down and order the 6!

Eliza let me know if you add a snap closer to the center and how that works. Will you leave the original snap? Love the phrase "a low tuition opportunity"!

Suz, thanks! This morning I've tried it on again, and I think it puckers less than the photo---the glossiness of the leather highlights the puckers in the photo...

I like it open, but not sure about closed. It depends how you want to wear it. I would also be sure you can layer under it like you want to.

I think it looks great. You could try a size 10 as sometimes there isn't much difference (sometimes two size 8's will be different!) but can you get a 10 at the low price and still keep this one so you don't risk losing the 8? That would be a consideration to me. I think if you plan to wear it open and/or adjust the snap as we've all discussed, it will be perfect. As long as it feels comfortable to you when you move around.

Texstyle--you are right, the next size up probably won't be that much different. I need the snap moved over a couple inches to get the drape I want when it is closed.....and a 10 won't be a couple inches different!

A new snap or the snap extender is the best idea---or just wearing it open! It's very comfortable open so I think this is a go!

Woot! Another lemming. This looks great Isis, and as long as it doesn't feel uncomfortably tight, I think this is the right size for you. It will probably stretch/relax and another snap might make it fit even better. Big fun!

I think the first picture with it worn open, looks great. The snap seems to be in an odd location on the closed pictures and I'd be curious to see how changing the snap location affects the fit. That sounds like an easy fix that could make a lot of difference.

I think it looks good as is and the puckering is a function of something being odd with the snaps. It makes sense that snap placement is not going to be one size fits all with different bodies. Keep it!

How does it look all done up? If it's just pulling because you've only got one button buttoned, I wouldn't size up. I really like the jacket on you and the fit looks great through the shoulders and so forth.

I think the pulling is a design issue. If it had a snap at at the waist I think there would be less pulling as it would be anchored better. It's a lot of tension for one lone snap. I think it's great open.

I like it on you as long as it's kept open (I have the same issue with mine)
