Kate Moss -- another style icon -- added more pics

Angie's E Alt thread inspired me to post these pictures I've been collecting of Kate Moss since joining YL. What do you think of her style? She has greater range (EA is quite consistent) yet always looks amazing and true to herself.

ETA: 15 plus are all more recent (2012) photos. I agree, her style is more consistent than I thought.

She also wears a lot of black. My favorite is of her in camel, #13, what a great color with her hair. I love the beat up boots with this look!

Thanks for the inspiration photos Denise! I like Kate's style --more youthful and playful than EA but has similarities. And I would love to get some similar layering tees (although not as low cut)

Kate Moss is fantastic but I think I may prefer her muse Marianne Faithfull's style even more.

marianne faithfull has aged well. km is more overtly sexual than ea, who has more androgeny going on.

I don't know who EA is or the alternate thread but I love Kate Moss' style. When I am not being boho she is who I like to dress like.

ETA: And she proves to me that you can wear mostly black & grey like I do & not need this pop of color that has become so popular.

These are great, Denise. I, too, am appreciating a more pared down style these days. I would love to be able to dress so precise and intentionally. Looking at EA and KM makes me want to throw everything out of my closet and start over!

Denise, I totally see KM in your style! I read the title of your post and I think I heard an audible "click"! So, for what it's worth, you are now inextricably tied to KM in my mind. You do a great job of channeling her sexy, body con here but not there, rocker fashionista aesthetic.

You know I actually think Kate Moss's style has a lot of consistent elements. She can seem all over the place but she really isn't, although she is definitely not pedantic about her look either and doesn't mind going out of character once in awhile, or maybe better said, adopting a less-often used character of hers. I was looking through her photos on the look book from The Cut recently and I was thinking sometimes she has really got it, and sometimes she looks like she can't quite keep it together--like her clothes are disheveled and falling off her shoulders in a way that could be charming but sometimes verges into junkie territory.
In any case she is a fascinating one. Much like I wonder with Emmanuel Alt, though, I wonder how big is the component of her style that just can't be copied because really what we are admiring is some combination of rare looks (that photograph well) and some inner energy that can't be captured.

ETA: RoseandJoan, cool! I had seen pictures of that woman before but didn't know who it was. And here I was just thinking of growing my fringe out. Hers makes me want to keep it again.

These are great pics! I can't put my finger on why, but KM is not someone I have paid a lot of attention too. She definitely has the "cool" factor but I don't aspire to her style like I do elements of Emmanuelle Alt, and others. It's interesting how we "connect" with certain people and their styles but not others. Denise I so get your love of both EA and KM''s style and I love how you take elements of voth and completely make them your own.

Both Kate Moss and Emanuelle Alt wear jeans frequently, I like that! I know there is life after denim, but still.

Loved the Marianne Faithful pictures RoseandJoan. And thank you for the link Cathy.

EA's style feels less attainable (for me personally) than KM's. EA is 6 ft tall I think. And she has dark hair. I feel both of these are an integral part of her look. Also, even though KM is very very slim, she has curves. She has hips.

Thank you for these! Very interesting. I realize she has, in fact, a somewhat conservative - or anyway, classic style. She has short but slim legs, and she dresses in a way to make them look longer. Her hips are to me part of her appeal, and she draws attention to them. The top half is always more voluminous. She likes straight blazers, long and short. She also seems to like sensual textures such as feathers and leather.

I see a really consistent style here - skinnies, jackets,boots, certain colors and textures, simplicity - nothing too froufrou or OTT, really. I have never looked at her as a style icon but I'm actually looking again now and see a lot in common with my own style goals! Thanks for posting all the pics.

I never really knew who Kate Moss was, I kind of live under a rock. She is so glamorous without being full of herself. I really like her style and yours Lioness. I don't know how, considering I am anything but a slim rocker chick, but by all that is holy I'm gonna get me some of that vibe, somehow.

I love Kate Moss' style. I think of her as one of my style icons. Not particularly her exact style - she's much more rock and roll than I'll ever be, but the effortless yet somehow pulled together quality of her style. She always looks like she just threw the outfit on and walked out the door.

I like her style as well, and I guess I can take some consolation that even though I don't look a thing like her, we're the same height, and both married to cool musician guys named Jamie.

Now I want some gray jeans so I can copy #12.

Great selection of photos. I haven't been able to understand what all the fuss about KM has been about because I usually have just seen one at a time and in candid shots she can look disheveled. But now I see it.
