So I was at the counter, ready to pay, at a second hand shop, when I looked down and saw these sandals... in my size... for $12. But what intrigued me most were these loose hanging beige leather straps that were tethered to the sides of the black straps with a zip tie. THE BLACK STRAPS UNCLIP AND THE BEIGE STRAPS CLIP IN. What in the what?! I bought them on principle. Does everyone know about these? If not, WHY doesn't everyone know about them? They. Are. So. Cool. They are quite comfortable, but it took a little getting used to the way that the ankle strap holds tension in front of the ankle, but the back is loose and open. They are easy to walk in, but just feel strange at first. If you plant your foot hard and the shove your foot backwards, you half way slide out of the shoe (but thankfully that isn't how I walk....). I googled them and found that they are Hawaiian, but it is hard to get to them online. The only site I found was difficult to navigate. But be still my heart, they have OTHER SYLES.

And lest you think there are only two ways to wear these, Ethan had the bright idea of doing a strap in each color. I am just so tickled. Convertible shoes in cork and leather... What's not to love?
