At least now I'm wired up and don't need the coffee!
To me they fit well. Would have been nice to have an 8.5, but 8 would not have sufficed, I think. They are snug in the calves, but of course zip up without problems. Based on my other tall, fitted boots, I am sure they will stretch naturally, and are comfortable now. The laces could have been better tightened, but it put a strain on my arm so I did a so-so job this time.
One thing is the slight bagginess around the ankle...I don't mind it, but is it a sign of a bad fit? I don't think my calves being wide are keeping the docs from reaching their full height. I think it would be loose no matter what? (I should check others' pics for that.)
And for Angie's sake, I have included two pics showing knee clearance.

I am getting fond of them...but will await honest yays or nays. Off they go for now, and I will check in with you lovely women later!
