Just wanted to say a quick 'hello' to YLF'ers from Venice this morning - waiting for my shuttle to head on down to the cruise terminal
I spent about 16.5 hours traveling ...but the fun part - believe it or not- was my 4.5 hour layover at the Paris airport. Although I was exhausted, it was really neat just hanging out and watching people while I waited for my next flight. I can finally say that I think I have a better idea of what "Parisian Chic" and "Euro Chic" are...pretty fab if you ask me.
Saw lots of boots of all kinds - with skirts and with different kinds of pants. My favourite was a combination of flat grey ankle boots with soft grey hose - not really totally opaque tights, but not super sheer either - and a muted mustard skirt, complete with a cream blouse and grey blazer. Beautiful colour combination and it looked totally comfortable for traveling. Meanwhile, I didn't see a single pair of coloured jeans, except a grey colour in addition to various blue washes and the odd pair of black skinny jeans/pants.
Leather jackets are popular - short-ish, in beautiful neutral colours - cream, taupe, cognac, various shades of charcoal etc. Once again, I did't see a whole lot of bright colours. This isn't to say 100 percent neutral, but that the colour is in smaller doses. Fab scarf, or one item - such as the mustard skirt and that's it.
Anyway, just felt like saying 'hi' from Venice ....
I am having a little trouble typing on this small screen. Will not likely have much internet time, so will not likely be able to reply later on.
In closing, trying a 'fall/autumn' version of Angie's grey/white/yellow spring colour combnation is a great idea. You'd just go with mustard, a more fall-like grey tone and a cream colour instead of bright white.
Back in a few weeks- wishing everyone happy boot shopping and a wonderful start to 'real' fall weather for everyone.
