Just ordered these boots from Nordstrom

Thanks to the 10 points cyber-Monday sale, I ordered these boots. The deep cognac looks different here than on other sites, and I'm hoping it's more like the Nordstrom picture. I'd like to add some brown boots to my repetoire. What do you think? Did anyone else cave in on the cyber-Monday deals?

Gorgeous!! I find brown to be very challenging. I NEVER wear my brown boots. Most of my clothes are black or have black tones. They just don't go with browns at all.

I like the color variation in the cognac - gives it that UWP feel.
I ordered a bright purple handbag but I think level one members don't get the 10x points.

Rita, that's my worry - although I am picturing these with citrons and blues. Definitely not keeping unless I can find a LOT of ways to style them, because I don't need wasted boots sitting around.

I think these are terrific and I can see them working very well with denim and other blues, at minimum.

I think they are fab. I am in the same boat with the brown boots. I just rcvd the Frye brown combat boots and havent taken the tags off for the same reason. But I think they can work with black, blue, grey! Try them out with a few things before deciding - they are delish!

I think they're great looking but you'll have to decide if they go with enough of your wardrobe. Although I have a lot of black in my closet, I like to mix black and brown so my brown boots actually get worn a lot.

I really love a distressed brown boot - hope they work for you! I had not looked at these on Nordies because they heel height is listed as higher on Zappos. Fingers crossed that they are indeed 2" - I might be temped by them as well if they are.

I did not hear about the 10-points thing... should investigate immediately.

Ooh, I like these a lot. One of the reviews said it was a lot of boot--a good thing in my book Perhaps these can be my boots in black? I never ended up getting the boots Rae has--they sold out in my size. The Frye's were comfy but kind of meh. Perhaps these are the ticket. Can't wait to see them in action!

Have not read other comments. To my mind, brown is an easy neutral to pair with any colors that aren't on the black-grey scale or a bright white.

Geez, Rae is right about heel height. It's all over the board--2" to 3". Hmm.

I wear deep brown with black but there's a clear hair bookending for me - and it's deeper than these boots.
The "wolf grey" ones have been on my Zappos wishlist for a while but the Nordie's price is better...hmmm.
ETA: I will be able to bookend the gray ones soon enough!

Yes, the heel discrepancy is annoying, though I can wear up to 3" in a chunky heel. Will report back when they arrive!

After years of shunning brown, I am smiling on it once again, particularly with blue. Looking forward to seeing the boots on person!

As shown in the pins above, brown goes with black very well. I love how brown boots can soften an otherwise very black outfit. I like the boots and hope you love them.

Not reading other's posts, but thinking that you need to order and see at home with your wardrobe too see if they work. Much less try on and walk around to see how they feel.

They're definitely a better choice than the pair I saw this morning that made me think of you when you had your quest for blue booties. . .
