...and I liked it!!

This was one of the most fun experiences I have ever had! I took My son to work with me for an hour this morning to set up a training, then we decided to go shoe shopping. He wanted a new pair of skateboarding shoes badly enough that he was willing to spend his own money. On the way there, Ethan told me about his friend's "cool" moms who have converse shoes. Truth be told, I have wanted to try some on for a while, but figured I would probably never wear them. This seemed like as good a time as any for a fact finding mission.

At the store, Ethan immediately found the pair he wanted, then I asked him about every pair of shoes I tried on. (My first lesson of the day - ask my son lots of questions. He may not offer things up, but when I ask, he tells me his honest opinion - and he knows amazing things!!) I first went for the nude pumps, and he preferred the lower heeled pointy toe to the higher heel because the higher one made the back of the heel bulge out in a "weird" way. But overall, he preferred the platform pump with the rounder toe because he really loved the platform part. (I didn't get any of them because they weren't comfortable enough.)

Next, we moved on to Converse. He deemed the black and white checkered and purple ones NOT me, but liked the grey ones (good boy!!). When I tried them on with the rolled boyfriend jeans, he said that they didn't look good that way, but would be better with the legs down. In fact, he even offered up that they would look best with my skinny jeans, with the cuffs down! (My only say in what I bought was the grey shoelaces to replace the bright purple ones. He was gracious enough to give me that one,)

We came home to change into our new finery, and Ethan picked my whole outfit - down to the jewelry and cuffing my shirt sleeves. Now we are going to lunch at his favorite BBQ place.

Best. Day. Ever. (And the best part was when I asked Ethan who is the coolest boy he knows, and his answer was his 21 year old cousin - because he is kind.)
