Just for grins the Leith slouchy pants on me

No, these will not be coming home with me. I saw them and thought i should try them on in the spirit of adventure and keeping an open mind.

They're not horrible, but they don't feel like me. I love the zippered hem and would love to find a less voluminous pant with that feature. The rear view is just comically awful! I could see doing a slightly slouchy version but this is way too baggy and slouchy for me.

Probably not the best pairing with my Jeffrey Campbell booties and the trendy jacket (which I'm kinda digging), but I thought I'd share. Just for grins!

See, I don't think they look bad at all! In fact, I find them flattering. well, I guess we are all different in what looks good to us. Which is possibly a good thing!

These are a medium and I have a LOT of room in them. A small would be too short though. These are sitting low on my hips.

Yeah, I can definitely see the appeal -- they feel like pajamas. But they are a bit staticky for one thing (although it is cold and dry here today). And they just don't feel *right*. I could definitely see trying something with this kind of drape in an easy but not so slouchy/baggy fit. These are slouchy AND baggy, and I think the bagginess is what bugs me. Thanks for all the comments though! It's fun to try things on that you have absolutely no expectations around.

Actually I think you should try size up: they seem not slouchy enough on you for this style. Laura's fit in them was roomier and it looke great.
On the other hand it is a very different look from form fitting jeans and tailored trousers and it definitely may require an adjustment - and even then may be not your cup of tea...

I agree with Sveta but didn't want to say it. If you really want to see how they look, size up, and you couldn't have styled them much worse than you did in there in the fitting room!

Yeah, I get what you guys are saying, but I think that whole look is just not for me. Like I said, I'd like to do an easy, slouchy pair, but the full-on baggy oversize thing is not for me. I felt kind of ridiculous in them.

Janet, and it is completely fine! Courses for horses...
You may try something with a bit of slouch but still tailored if you chance upon a pair but if you do not feel the style no wprry: you rock skinnies with the best of them!

Nobody is laughing because they look flattering! It's as simple as that. More flattering than skinnies that you have tried in the past that were too tight. They don't work with the bomber though - or at least not with the bomber and this particular underlayer.

But there is no sense in it at this stage, Janet. You and hubs have poison eye for the look. Stick to styles that you both like

Angie, it's so interesting how "flattering" can be in the eye of the beholder. I think these make my long legs look short and stumpy. I also totally agree that too tight is unflattering, but I think these go too far in the opposite direction. At least for me. Maybe my eye will adapt if this becomes really mainstream again, but for now, you're right, I played with the look and I'm ready to move on. Would love to find a tailored slightly slouchy pair in a similar fabrication though! To all of you who embrace this look, rock on! It's all good!

It IS all good! It's *very* important to stay respectful to those who wear and love a look that for others are their "poison eye". No need to love something when you just can't love it. I'm that way about casual maxi dresses. But making others feel bad about what they like is not on either. Thanks for being respectful here, Janet. I appreciate the great attitude.

And now we can keep on debating the silhouette until the cows come home !!! - I have that much energy :). It's not the pants making you feel short legged here, Janet. It's the silhouette of the too short and ill fitting bomber that's zipped up over the pants that is creating the "dumpy visual". You need a larger and longer bomber style and it's best to keep the look unzipped.

So lets get you a fab bomber to update your style for Spring!

I think you look marvelous. But I have been a slouchy/baggy chick all my life, and I have a sugar eye for this style. You are fashion forward in so many ways, I think you're entitled to skip out on a trend you don't enjoy.

Janet, I think they are flattering on you because you have a great shape but I totally understand where you are coming from. I've had a near dressing room meltdown trying on this style of pants myself. I finally settled on a pair by Phillip Lim but I personally don't think they are my most flattering look.

Speaking of bomber jackets, I have a really fab leather bomber by Iro. I think you like Iro, unless I'm thinking of the wrong person? Jackets are definitely more fun to try on than pants!

I agree with Angie, though: you have the poisoned eye. Don't work for it if you don't love it.

Actually I think they look good on you too! But I am also in the camp of how there are so many little aspects of fit that you "feel"'as well as see in the mirror. And that are just personal. preferences. I have a carload myself.

Ah, the blue booties. I love this look and how the blue in the floral pattern is accented and highlighted against the black. Very, very cute.
