[Sorry for the multiple posts all at once, but it's the first chance all week I've gotten to hang out on the computer and not do work! I've missed you all...]

So I definitely went over my budget for May for SYB. I may buy a pair of shoes from Zappos to try since they're on sale, but after that I'm definitely off shopping for the rest of the month to let my budget recover. But, to give myself something fun to do, I'm going to try to put some "writer capsules" together this month, which I've been needing to do for a while.

Off the top of my head I can think of three types of outfits I need:

1. Going to writer meetings, helping run my local writers group - probably the kind of thing I'd wear on an ordinary smart casual day, just on the more interesting end of things. Good colors, interest in the top half, nothing that requires a lot of fussing to keep looking OK.

2. Readings, signings, anything where I'm doing something at the front of a crowd - more flair, arty, something that looks good from a distance.

3. for conferences and such, the possibility of meeting with agents or editors - more professional, more formal? Or at least something that strikes a balance between "I'm creative" and "I'm responsible".

I'm not sure where to start except by going through my wardrobe, pulling out pieces and seeing if I can start putting together some trial outfits.
