Jumping on the p-bow trend

I've been admiring pics of p-bow (can't bear to bring myself to say the full word) blouses both here and on other websites and am considering jumping onto the bandwagon.

I've seen 2 on asos.com that have caught my fancy and I'm particularly attracted by the fact that they are cotton, reasonably priced, as well as asos's free international shipping - yay!!! These are the 2:

Has anyone tried these items? Which sleevelength do you find more appealing? Are there any differences apart from the sleeves that I am missing? Also I don't know whether to go for black or the navy blue (or one of each). Any suggestions??

Haha, Tam, you and I are on the same wavelength. I just made my very first ASOS order too - and I ordered the 2nd blouse in black, and *almost* went for the first blouse that you posted too. We'll have to compare notes once our orders arrive!

Yeah, it basically came down to the sleeve length. I love the color of the navy top, but I have so many short-sleeved shirts that I can't wear without an over-layer most of the year in Seattle (my arms get chilly!) and am trying to stock up on blouses that have a more substantial sleeve. (Aesthetically, I don't mind wearing a shorter sleeve.) Plus, the black blouse reminded me very much of the pussycat bow blouse we've seen Angie wear, although the ASOS top has a lower neckline that will hopefully be more friendly to my body:

I love the longer sleeve. I know the short sleeves work for some but they cut me off right at the pudgiest part of my arm; it's not a good look for me. I usually look for elbow, 3/4 or sleeveless tops. Short and cap sleeves are not my friend.

Interesting thoughts. I managed to stumble across a RED PB blouse in shops on Friday which I'll post pics of soon. As much as I love the colour, I am unsure about both the sleeves and the waist.

I was looking at the navy one today but I decided against it as it looks like it would be murder to iron especially if it is pure cotton and not a blend. Can you tell I was ironing this morning?

I like the mid-length sleeve though.

Hmm you could right about the ironing, but I think both fabrics seem to be the same, don't they? Or do you just mean the shorter sleeve would be more difficult to iron?

Yes, I think the fabrics are the same really. I don't see much difference except for the sleeves either, but I love it that you get a different vibe with the long (a bit more dressy and sophisticated) and the short (more playful) sleeve.
Also: I think it's the same model and if you look at the back pictures the short-sleeved blouse seems to be a tiny bit longer.

I'd personally try the short-sleeved one in blue (I bet it will look great with your dark hair- and the long-sleeved blouse in black.

Sorry, I meant the fabric on both as opposed to some of the other PB blouses they carry that are not cotton. I am a huge cotton fan unless it involves ironing for 10 minutes each time I wear it.

Inge you read my mind about the colour options. Unsure if its a bit over-the-top to buy both though. Not sure which one to go for if I only buy one.Still deciding!!

Dianthus I know what you mean about ironing.Ugh. Still,I do love cotton though. Works well in Australian weather, so being cotton is a bonus for me!

i like both, if you are in a warm weather climate, then id go with the shorter sleeve.
