Julia - sweater dress

After trying and returning several sweater dresses, I finally got one. Thanks Angie for the tip! I got it from BR this week while it's on sale.

I thought it was a cowl neck but it turned out to be a relaxed turtle neck. Does it make my short neck look even shorter? I usually avoid turtle neck like the plague.

It looks great. I love it on you. It's a great color and I love the line of it. The neckline is flattering. I don't see that your neck is short. It's so good to see you have success in finding a sweater dress.

That is a very flattering color on you! And I definitely don't see a short neck. In fact, I feel like the relaxed turtleneck/small cowl makes your neck look longer, especially when paired with the long necklace you chose. Great job!

I think the cowlneck works great on you. I also try to be careful with these necklines because my neck is short.

Marianne, I didn't see this one online so if you're interested you might want to go to a store nearby to see if they have it. In the store I went to, they were well stocked with sweater dresses and most of them were close to 50% off.

On a side note, I have a question for the boots I wear in the picture. Even though they fit me really well, the top of the left one is frayed. If you look close you might see the white thread showing. Is there a way I can fix it? I am looking for a replacement but I want to keep wearing this one before I find a new pair.

I'd ask a cobbler about it Julia. I don't know if it's fixable or not, but they would be the best judge of that.

I know this sounds hideous, but you could try filling in the white with a black sharpie marker. At least that way it's less noticeable unless you're up close. Since you're looking to replace them anyway, it might not be such a bad idea.
