I went to one of my good local shoe stores and spotted these Josef Seibel "Bonnies" which are very similar in vibe to the Cayannes but a more affordable price ($160 at Zappos). They are super comfortable and the heel is very sturdy. Just a little higher than I am used to. They come in two roughed up metallics, this pearly one and a silver version.
Not quite as fab but more in my literal and figurative comfort zone, I also tried the Ruth. I would have bought these but already have something similar and some orders on the way. I may go back for one or the other pair...
After trying out online shoe shopping a bit, it was refreshing to try on at a good shoe store with various affordable quality brands and trends represented. Prices were also more reasonable than I expected with the Canadian dollar issue.
