Jeans with a dress still a thing?

hi, everyone;

it's been such a long time since i posted anything. you know how life is, sometimes.

i'm wondering if a dress and jeans with boots is still a thing. how does one do it in a 2019 style? would love to hear from anyone who does it as a staple, or just an occasional thing.

I haven’t seen that look in quite a while
ETA there is dresses over pants, but it’s a more flowly look overall. FYI this was in a modesty focused collection.

Stephanie, I was doing dress/tunic over skinnies in 2016 and 2017, but not so much in 2018 and it's not on my radar for 2019. Sorry!

Hmm, I hope it's not out of style. I've worn it recently, though not often (I don't have a lot of dresses that work with jeans). When I did wear the look last fall, I got a lot of compliments, and people seemed surprised to even see jeans with a dress--so I think the trend never really hit my neck of the woods.

Angie last year bought some black jeans to wear under a dress, so I'd say why not?
I don't do it, since nearly all my dresses are summer wear and jeans are winter wear (and rarely wear them), but I don't dislike the look.

I think judging by the examples is too update the footwear.

i have been updating my footwear. used to wear all knee high boots, but now going with the shorter styles like these.

FWIW, I was just in NYC and in several of the window displays I saw dresses over slim ankle pants and capris. The footwear for spring were either slides with very wide foot coverings or heeled mules. Every outfit was beautiful!
