During my wardrobe edit I made a shopping list. One of the items was more jeans/jeggings, since I've shrunk slightly out of the ones I bought two years ago. They were American Eagle, which was having a great Labor Day sale, so I bought about 10 pair. They arrived today and I've been trying them on.
(I'm trying to add Finds, but it's not working for American Eagle right now. It thinks it adds but nothing happens.)
First I love these dusty dark blue ankle pants. I wore them to an extra choir rehearsal tonight. The moto detailing is a lot of fun. They're very soft to the touch and seem to have good recovery.
The surprise entry is the "Hi-Rise Slim Jean," which is 89% cotton and 11% poly - no stretch! I am amazed - they fit beautifully, not tight even on my thighs. They're also crazy long! I'm going to keep them, and possibly duplicate.
AE lengths affect the rise as well as the inseam. So I need to keep the X-Long size, but will get them hemmed. (I also need the back waist taken in about 2". But only 2", not 4"! They're a great fit.) I hate to go too short, but with a slim fit I'd rather not have too much break in the front. I will not wear these with heels, just flat sandals, sneakers, and maybe casual booties.
These need hemmed 3-4". I tucked the excess up inside for these pictures, but I was trying different lengths. I did try to angle the hem slightly too.
4: This is about 4" tucked up.
5: Only 3" tucked up.
6: Comparison from the front. The one of the left (in the picture) has the shorter length so it looks less sloppy to me.
7-9: Other shoe options, all at the longer length.
I'm not sure it matters this much, and of course washing will shrink and I will tug them out again a little bit. No science about it. But I would appreciate opinions!
