Jeans capsule advice - white

I have recently added long white flares and white cropped flares to my wardrobe which also included a pair of white bootcut jeans. This seems like a huge expansion of choices for me and I'm really pleased. Thank you all for guidance along the way.

I picked up a pair of the authentic straight jeans in white from the GAP and they are good and comfortable on, but not sure if I'd ever wear them when I have other cute white jeans I think I'd reach for first in the spring/summer. I think I'd even prefer a pair of cropped straight white jeans over the longer ones. But then I wonder if I am being short sighted.

Are straight white jeans a total necessity?

I wear my long white jeans more in the cool/cold weather or roll them for summer to show ankle. Remember that white jeans probably will be in the wash more often than darker colors so you will need more if you want to keep them in rotation without a laundry bottleneck. I have 3 pair (2 full length and one ankle.

I don't wear straight legs ever, unless they are cropped. Partly because since I have small ankles and wider hips, most skinnies look like slightly tapered straights on me and work a lot better with various kinds of footwear and with rolling. Straights seem to have too much material around the ankle, but not enough to be intentional looking like flares and bootcuts.

If you have a body type that works better with straights than skinnies though, they might be useful, but since you just bought two other white pairs I'd wonder about whether they would all get worn of if one would be less used.

For me they work very well. I love my straight white jeans (own two pairs) and sport them mostly in the shoulder seasons (Spring and Fall). Like Joy, I often wear them rolled (or cuffed) at the ankle. I also wear them with tall cognac boots in the fall.

I have lots of white jeans and practically live in the them in the warmer months. More options is always goof as they require frequent laundering. With what you listed you already have, I think that a cropped pair that is either straight or skinny (whichever works the best for you) would be the most versatile next purchase.

Joy and Tanya: I tried on the straight pair and rolled them up and I liked that look a lot! I may purchase one other cropped pair to compare the two, but it is definitely an option (and one I hadn't even thought about)

Rabbit: I tried them on again after reading your comment and I see exactlly what you mean. I don't love the straight look on me, and I am starting to see how it's my proportions. Rolled up is better on me, and I bet pairing straights with boots would be a good option too. I don't look good in skinny jeans unless I have a substantial tall boot on, and even then....

El Cee: I hadn't even thought about wearing them in the fall with boots. Knee high cognac boots have been on my list to find this Fall (I purchased black ones last fall).

I prefer above the ankle pants in the summer, and will always roll up long pants.
I'm not sure what your lifestyle is like, but for the office, a pair of straight white pants and heels looks very tidy and professional.
