This is going to sound stupid but can skinnys be worn with ballet flats. My oldest daughter says NO. What shoe sytle do you think looks best with straight legs and boot cut.

Of course they can!
Bootcuts look great with booties or Converse, but really I don't think there are hard and fast rules about the types of shoes for jeans.

They def. can! I had the same hesitation when I finally found the first pair of skinnies that fit me a couple months ago. I got a big YLF approval for skinnies with flats. I actually prefer the look of slim boot and straight leg jeans with skinnies than flared or wideleg jeans.

Hmm, I think they go well together. I mean skinny jeans look good with 4" high heels on models but we're in the real world where skinny jeans also look fantastic with cute flats. In fact I love how the jeans scrunch up at the ankles.
Perhaps in her age group they view it differently?

I love and wear skinnies with ballet flats but some pundits including 'Queen of the High Heel' Victoria Beckham believe this look resembles a golf club (?).

Maybe that's because Victoria Beckham's legs are as skinny as the average golf club, Julie?

Ballet flats go with everything, imo. Skinnies, straight legs, bootcuts, trouser jeans. Skirt and dresses, too.

I echo the ladies. I wear ballet flats with skinnies all the time too. Unlike Posh Spice, I think it's a fabulous look.

Victoria Beckham has some of the gnarliest, most disgusting looking feet I have ever seen and she is only in her 30's. I shudder to think what her feet will look like by the time she is in her 60's, let alone beyond.

Not to mention her pumps all seem to gape in the back.

She has been photographed in flats recently in a too-little-too-late attempt to avoid a bunionectomy (no one has even bothered mentioning her nasty hammertoes).

...I'm sticking with flats, stylish or not.

Maya, I have been unfortunate enough to see those photographs before. I strongly believe varying you footwear between supportive flats and low heels is the best for your feet. The thought of self inflicting pain on your feet in the name of fashion is gross.

Debbie, I plan on wearing my skinnies and ballet flats today. Angie and Kate Moss can't be wrong!
