JCrew keep or returns + bonus shot of my NEW HANDBAG (and new shoes)

#1-4 - I've been searching HARD for some white boot cuts. I finally found some that fit at JCrew - is there too much pocket show thru in the front? Or are they OK?

#1-3, 5-6 - What do you think of this striped cardi (also from JCrew)? Does it work like this? Should I keep it?

(I'm LOVIN' my new MM Heathers and red flats - I have no questions about those)

#7/8 - Here's my new (and my first ever) handbag - I love it (but I shouldn't have worn a black belt - oh well, live and learn).

Now, no more shopping until NAS. Phew!

The white boot cuts are a spectacular fit and I don't mind the pockets in front. Keep!

The striped cardi is great as you've styled it with the bootcuts, keep! I am not so fond of it with the dress as it strikes me as too much volume. The new bag is really cool, LOVE the color!

And your shoes, especially the MM are really great!

What's wrong with the black belt? Is there a better color you were considering? Just curious.....

Did someone say "handbag?" Wow! Great haul. I LOVE everything. The white denim is fab--especially with those Heathers! I love the stripey cardi too--looks so fresh and springy with everything you paired it with! The crossbody is delish too! Big thumbs up on the whole shebang!

yay for a first ever handbag!! I really like the striped cardi but not so much over the dress. I think it needs a slimmer bottom silhoutte to balance it out - like the white jeans.

I love the white jeans and stripped cardigan so springy and very slimming. Great color choice for the handbag love the turquoise. The MM Heather are fab and look good with white. Are they comfortable? Keep the white jeans!!

Those pants look great! I agree that everything is a keep, but I would not wear the dress-sweater combo as you can't see your nice figure.
The look #7 is fantastic...I usually avoid Jean on Jean but the colors are so different it really works!

Renee - the MM Heathers seem very comfortable, although it's been a bit cooler here since I got them so I haven't given the full-day test yet.

Isis - I don't know why the black belt seems 'off' to me. But I'm not sure what color I would substitute..

I think I have those white bootcuts! Though mine are the ones with the 36" inseam :). You look wonderful in everything. Loooooove the cross-body bag--the color is perfect with your coloring and your color palette. Way to dip your toe into Handbag Lake!

hee-hee, Jonesy - mine are "Short", and I think I may still have to hem them another 1/2". I'm glad to know that petites and longs can look great in some of the same summer jeans!

All fab. I personally would keep the cardi for slimmer fit bottoms (like the jeans as opposed to the dress) to balance the volume. Luuurve the bag x

Sarah! I LOVE all of these items on you, what a great haul (and would happily "borrow" any of them, hehe)!! The pants look really, really good; I wouldn't hem them shorter if the shoes you have on in the photos are of the heel height you'll be wearing with them. I DIG the striped flyaway cardi, and have to second Louise's thoughts of pairing with slimmer bottoms/dresses so you don't end up with too much volume (the pairing with the dress looks like too much volume to me, but could possibly be remedied by belting the dress or both cardi and dress). The last outfit is SUPER awesome, and a double yay for your new turquoise bag!! In regards to your belt question, try cognac instead

THANKS, Aida (and everyone else). I will try the cognac belt solution - do you think a lighter taupey belt would work, as well? I'm sort of looking for one of those, too. The hem of the pants does actually drag on the floor a bit, and with white pants, that seems like a disaster, so I think I can get away with a bit of hemming. I'll see about belting the dress - I tried belting over the cardi and it looked a bit odd, and the dress has an empire waist. But I'll have to experiment.

Just make sure you don't hem the pants until you've washed them. Maybe a couple of times.

I think a taupe belt would work (especially with your light hair), but it'll also draw more attention there because the contrast would be higher than cognac; if your top was light in color though, the taupe would be lower contrast and work well.
