If you didn’t see my 2022 recap & January challenge post- to kickstart 2023 and help me set my goals & strategies, I’m doing SYC no repeat challenge

#1 & 2 New Years Day- low key. Had a quick trip to the mall to return a couple of after Xmas sale items that didn’t work out. Had a quick look around just to see what going on, and then picked up some take out.
These jeans are probably the most worn item in my wardrobe. They are the most basic of any of my jeans, and nothing special, just a nice mid rise, straight(ish) leg and comfy boyfriend fit. The sweater isn’t one of my favorites, probably because the v neck is a little lower than I would really like, but I’ve kept it because it’s red and sometimes I just want a little color. The weather was perfect for the NAS coat, so I thought I’d show it in action

#3 day 2 spent the morning prepping lunches for the week and laundry. Off for a walk this afternoon. It’s a quiet start to the new year

The red sweater with black and white trim is great - works perfect with your jeans and shiny boots ( fab coat as well ). Good start for 2023 .

Angie- I think the reason I wear these jeans so much, aside from Just how comfortable they are, is that because they are so basic they have a Chameleon like ability to work with almost everything.
LOL, the take out was a nice chicken parm, with a fabulous slice of Chocolate fudge cake

Dear Kkards, I enjoyed reading you post and looking at your outfits. Here is today’s outfit , coral Soft Surroundings pull on coal/orange jeans, Garnet Hill cashmere sweater, gifted scarf. It is s cold 20 F day with new snow and frosty mist. Everything you see is second hand. I am recovering from a cough and cold. The sweater is keeping me warm. Yesterday, I wore black dressy pants and jacket with a black, white and red sequined shell and black flats or white snow boots. About 7 inches of new snow and below 0 F temps. I will try for a picture later

I like all of them. those jeans do seem like a great basic jean to wear and would work interchangeably with different pieces. I also really like the long cardigan with toggles that you wore for your walk. It looks great with the leggings and trainers.

Dang that coat is fabulous! I can see how the low v on the sweater could be irksome, but it’s also clever! I like what you did with it.

Oh! yes! That mixed media coat with the bookending shiny booties is a great look to start the year. I’d like to learn what you saw when out and about (what folks were wearing and what the window displays are showing!)

I’ve worn the same thing two days in a row, due to doing a whole house cleaning post holiday. Additional fun things like deconstructing my vacuum cleaner to clean/replace the filters and sorting out the kitchen catch-all drawer. (My challenge is to get to the bottom of the freezer and clear out the pantry and cupboards before restocking groceries!)

Joy what a great CoC, bright colors to kick start the new year, feels like a theme (This morning I’m seeing the picture on the original post, but I didn’t see it yesterday)

Runcarla-I did the freeze deep dive in September always scary to see what’s actually there.

Oh god, you just reminded me that we need to clean out the freezer. Next phase of demo on our kitchen starts next week (while I am away), and the fridge goes. Maybe I should just leave all the stuff in the freezer when it goes to the dump, LOL. Most of it is old anyway!

Great start to your fashion year. A good basic jean can go with anything! I love that V-neck sweater too.

I’ve worn the same BF jeans and assorted hoodies for the last couple of days, packing up the kitchen items, and moving out some furniture pieces that we are letting go of, for our new first floor renovation. Today, it’s off to the laundromat because our dryer decided to stop working two weeks before it was going to be ripped out anyway. Sigh!
