Jacket repair question

My favorite leather jacket (a vintage Aigner blazer) has a lining that's hanging on by a thread. I've ignored it as long as I can, but it needs repair badly so that I can wear it a little this spring. I would like to have it redone with something funky and that is me, but I have no idea what I should look for in a fabric for a lining. Does anyone have tips or fabric resources?

It depends on what you want. Silk charmeuse is luxurious, if a bit on the expensive side, and comes in many solids and prints. For most day-to-day garments, I use Ambiance (rayon). No static, breathes well, and is available in many solid colors (no prints).

Are you doing this yourself or having it done? The tailor might have some suggestions as well - might want to check pricing as it might be expensive, I'd imagine. Hopefully you are a seamstress and can DIY!

Definitely not going to DIY this, I found tutorials, but I'd rather have it done professionally because my sewing machine would die with leather!

Alexandra - I should have never clicked the Silk Charmeuse link! It's like lining heaven (but the price! WOW!). Going to mosey back over to Ambiance land and pick something nice and suitable. My heart wants turquoise...my brain says get the maroon.

Go with whatever will make you smile every time you see it and wear it. I LOVE the idea of a sassy/fun liner that only you know about while wearing. Kind of like wearing sexy underthings...just gives you a zip in your step...

Yes, use a fun print for the lining.
